My blogging is suffering. Too much else has been requiring my attention, and all of a sudden, here it is Friday and I haven't blogged since Tuesday.
On Wednesday, five of my high school girlfriends joined me at my house for a planning session for our 50th class reunion in August. We started at 10:00, broke for lunch of my homemade chicken salad, fruit, and chocolate cake, then got back to work. I don't remember what time we wrapped up the meeting, but it was late afternoon, I'm sure.
Yesterday, I had a dentist appointment and an appointment with my eye doctor. All went well. The dentist was just for cleaning, and the eye doctor for annual check up. He told me that I have cataracts, but they are not at the stage that requires surgery yet. Thank God for that. I surely don't have time to have my eyes zapped. Probably next year though.
I spent a little time going around the house and taking shots of various items I've found in my thrifting adventures that I don't think I've shown here. I also took some shots of the front porch and was soaking wet when I got inside. Temps for the rest of the week at least are supposed to exceed 100 degrees. I truly detest this kind of weather. But it's even more horrible in other areas. Seems as though Colorado is on fire. Let's pray for those people and the animals that live in and near the fires.
And please, friends, don't leave your doggies or kitties in the car during this hot weather. And put some dishes of water our for the birds, squirrels, and stray whatevers.

Decorative plates from the flea market mall

Thrift store needlework treasure

Another flea market find, now hanging over the doorway between my living room and dining room

Hanger from thrift store, heart, acquired many years ago, from a shop in Atlanta called Granny Taught Us How

Mama crocheted this piece of lace, but I don't know what it was supposed to be.

A little English tea pot from the thrift store

My dining table centerpiece for lunch on Wednesday

My patriotic picnic dishes with some thrift store pots and pitchers

I love splatterware; it's very American to me.

Both the wicker magazine basket and the little piece of needlework came from the flea market mall.

Skipper says, "No more picture taking, SuSu. I want to lie down here."
Tomorrow, I'll show you the front porch, if I don't melt in the meantime.

Greetings to you, Sophie, and Skipper! Hope all of you are content in wonderful cool air today - and will be for the coming few days, too. This heat is AWFUL, to say the least.
You have really scored big time on your various thrifting jaunts. Well done!
Prayers for rain for Colorado and all areas that need it, in helpful amounts, and without flooding. Okay?!
AMIL and FIL are now at the same rehab facility so life is somewhat easier. Please pray for FIL's attitude to improve as he is not cooperating with PT as well as I thought he was. Glub, glub!
Sewing? It's a distant memory... sigh!
Hugs!

My gracious! You have accomplished WAY more than I have recently! Love ALL your 'finds' because they fit so beautifully in each of the places you've put them. YOur mama's lace piece is delicious, Susan! And the picture of Ms. Sophie just makes me want to hug her! She's SUCH a sweet girl! Skipper is the naughty one, I know, but he's awfully cute for such a digger! LOL! Get some much needed rest this weekend, my friend! LOVE YOU!!!
