Can't Talk; Gotta Quilt

Woman quilter in MarseiileI'm down to the wire now. Have to get "Mama in the Mirror" finished by next Monday, which is the day of our June guild meeting and the challenge quilt show. So everything else will have to suffer this week. No planting, shopping, laundry, cooking, bug killing. Nothing's happening around here but quilting.

You don't know how hard that is for me. It's probably why my quilts take so long to get finished. I start one thing, see something else that needs attention, and go to it. As long as there's an undone chore, I hear its call. I guess focus is my problem, maybe a little bit ADHD, or whatever those letters are.

But I have to ignore all but quilting this week. Let's see how I do.

I was supposed to go to bee this morning at Doris's house, but with the fibro flaring like a monster (which it is), the back problems making walking painful, and that unfinished quilt, I just had to pass this time. I don't like to miss bee. It's always such a lift getting together with my bee sisters.

Thanks to all of you who commented yesterday, and to those of you who shared your grief experiences. I suppose grief is just part of life. It's the price we pay for loving and being loved. Small price.

I'm right there with you in the flitting from one thing or task to the next. I learned in nursing school that the psychiatric term for it is "flight of ideas" but perhaps that's reserved for folks whose ideas come one after the other at 150mph or more. Mine sort of mosey!

Hope someone can come plant your posies and nandinas. I think you'll enjoy the nandinas immensely. We have many planted around our house and in the yard as their colors thru the year are wonderful and the birds love the berries. Usually there are plenty of berries for Christmas decorations, too.

Best wishes on finishing Through the Looking Glass this week. May your fingers, back, and other parts be happy to let you sew; may you sleep well and awaken feeling refreshed whether from a nap or a night in bed; and may your quilt be finished more quickly that you can imagine and with days to spare.

Big hugs!

You have worked long and hard on "mama in the Mirror" quilt. I sure hope you get it finished in time for the show. Wish we could help in some way.

Just read Sunday and yesterday postings. I understand how a lyric of a song can do that to you. Even though Mark didn't die, I was with him 33 years. I feel like I'm suffocating sometimes at the memories. I have noticed that when I feel all of these memories, by the next day my fibro is out of control. Stress is horrible for fibro.
Don't work to hard at the flower/yard today,or feel guilty not doing so. Water the plants in their containers. They'll last a few more days!
Have fun quilting! Be sure and take breaks.
Hugs...

A friend recommend you blog. She thought I could relate, since I have Fibro. I've enjoyed your writing so much. It seems you have more than one true talent. Your quilts are a treat, and so is your writing. Glad Fibro isn't winning at your house. take care...
