Yesterday

Mon3

Sunday was full of activity. First to church, then fellowship spaghetti luncheon after. Full and happy, I delivered the "Love Birds" quilt to my friend Mary. She's embroidering the couple's names on the quilt. On the way home, I stopped along the side of the country road that leads from my house to Mary's and picked wildflowers. I got a pretty bouquet for my dining room table (see above).

At home, I rested for a while and then took the doggies for a walk. Back home, with doggies settled inside, I went back out and watered all the thirsty plants. Dragging hoses all over the yard wore me to a frazzle. I was red faced and soaking wet when I got back inside. The dogs wanted to play, but I had to offer my regrets. I could hardly move.

The fibro pain was intense last night. I don't know if it was all the activity or if the Fibromonster just wanted to growl. I took 800 mg. of ibruprofen to get the pain under control and slept fairly well. But this morning I awoke with a burning, churning tummy from the megadose of ibuprofen.

By 8:30 this morning, I had both dogs delivered to the vet's office--Sophie for grooming, Skipper to check his eye inury. I'll pick them up this afternoon. They were so pitiful with not wanting to go, they made me feel awful. I asked them if they wanted to go for a ride. Now Sophie always wants to go for a ride, but this time she wouldn't even come down to the basement to get in the car. I had to force her. I've always suspected that dog could read minds.

At the clinic, when the assistant came out to take them back, they both cried and cried and looked at me with their pitiful little eyes, just begging me not to leave them at the mean old vet's office. I almost cried. I told the receptionist next time I'm getting cats. But she said cats are no better at the vet's.

Mon2Oh, and my chair came Saturday. See.

Today is laundry day.

Oh the chair is beautiful! I especially like the wavey silhouette on the top! I hope you can get some relief today from the monster. I sure wish the doctors could come up with a wondrous solution for all those who suffer with fibro...

Wonderful chair, wonderful flowers, and enjoyed your dogs.. Mine get all excited until we pull in the vets driveway.. What would we do without our furry companions.. My the fibro monster be banished.. Ditto on disliking fibro-world..

What lovely wildflowers! Love the tablerunner and pitcher-vast, too!

You certainly chose a wonderful chair to cozy up in, recline, and snooze. Sophie has the right idea!

Bless the sweet hearts of your forlorn 4-legged kids. I am here to testify that cats - armed with weapons on all four feet - are absolutely worse than dogs at going to the vet. Cats have to be in carriers to protect the car interior and all humans and they clearly let you know that hate you. Dogs put you on a guilt trip, hang their heads, and feel so sorry for themselves but that is MUCH easier to deal with - at least in my experience with both cats and dogs.

Soon you'll have eternally grateful dogs back at home and you three can each take a relieved nap in your favorite spot!

Hugs!

My Zoey gives me the sad eye when I take her to be cliped and the vet.

I can assure you that cats are just as bad. I had a cat who would hide underneath the house every time it was time for a Vet. appointment. We missed a few appointments that had to be rescheduled. Another one howled the whole way to the Vet. Can you imagine stopping at a traffic light and having people look because they can hear the cat howling over all the engine noise and having the windows rolled up? Sounded like she had been run over! I'm sure they were wondering where that poor, pathetic, injured kitty was.

Cats are no better, I can assure you. When Pumpkin was a kitten, he got his shots while sitting in my lap because the nice older vet recognised his need to remain in Mommy's lap. And when he got his boy parts snipped and had to stay overnight, he lept over the counter and into my arms when I picked him up. Smokey Joe got all of his shots while sitting on my shoulder. See references to the nice old vet above. And now he does his best to convince me he's too cute to leave when I have to go to work.

Beautiful chair! Now the doggies have had spa day and you need one! :) Hoping you feel better soon. (I haven't given up on my little quilt. Just delayed.)

I had to refresh the page 2 times to view this page for some reason, however, the information here was worth the wait.
