UFO Progress Report: Week 15

I have the picture blocks finished for my "Mama in the Looking Glass" (or "Mama in the Mirror") quilt. And I'm almost finished basting the quilt. After quilting, I'll attach the photo blocks in the four dark red squares--maybe with buttons, maybe with bows. I haven't decided for sure.

Yesterday I baked. I made two hummingbird bundt cakes and a pan of brownies. One cake was for Jesse's dad and stepmom, and the other was for neighbors Paul and Karen. Karen just recently had major surgery and a cancer scare. But, thank God, no cancer and she's doing well in her recovery. The brownies were for Andy and Jesse. When there's not much one can do, one can always bake.

Today at 12:00, we tell Billie goodbye. It will be a graveside service. My allergies are so bad today, and I got no sleep last night. I would rather just stay inside and think of Billie laughing, shopping, playing bingo.

There has been a development, completely beyond my control (as most developments are) that has me more upset than I've been in a long time. It's not something I can talk about, but prayers for disaster aversion would be appreciated.

I think Skipper has the answer to all problems. When life gives you dirt, DIG! And share the fun with a friend.

  Dirt2

Brush off the dirt and look below for Mr. Linky. You don't have to be a member of the UFO Bust Challenge to post your link. We'd like to know what you've been doing anyway. So if you have a blog, link up below.

Happy Friday the 13th, everyone.

Prayers for all as you bid Billie good-bye and added to those will be prayers that the disaster will be averted.

Skipper does have the right idea. Perhaps you need to make one of those dirt cakes with Oreos and gummy worms, then dig in?

Well done on getting the wonderful quilt tribute to your mother to the basting stage! Applause, applause. I vote for attaching the pictures with buttons, perhaps even using buttons from your mother's button box.

My parents were married 69 years ago today at the home of Mom's parents. It was 1943 and Dad was in the Army so he wore his uniform. He always said 13 was his lucky number.

Hugs!

Warm thoughts and good wishes going your way today as you say good-bye to your dear friend. Aren't you glad you have Skipper to dig in and vent some energy for you on that hole?! Maybe some antique lace around the frames of those photo blocks?

The quilt is going to be one-of-a-kind, and so beautiful.
Thoughts and prayers are with you.

What a wonderful idea to incorporate photo blocks into a quilt! We LOVE quilts and hang them all over the house. Adding photos...we didn't think of that! We are new bloggers (mother/daughter duo) and would love for you to stop by and visit us if you have a chance. www.puddlesprice.com

Your mother quilt is going to be fantastic. Such a lovely way to remember. I think buttons, especially if they were hers, will look very good and give it an old fashion bling.
Hope the service helps everyone in their mourning process. My prayers are with your family. I will pray for you that whatever is heavy on your shoulders will soon be lifted.

I will pray for disaster to be averted. The quilt is going to be lovely. Now I am going to look up hummingbird cakes and see what you made. It sounds wonderful.

I've linked up with my unfinished Christmas project! I will be finished by next Christmas. So sorry for your recent loss and for your unnamed troubles, just know that you are never alone.
