So much needs doing that I don't know where to start. This is Nancy's "Wise Words" journal from my circle journal group. I haven't even started my spread in it, due at the end of the month, although I do have it in my head.
I also have to finish my guild challenge "Mama in the Mirror" quilt before the June guild meeting, June 11, I think--quilting and all. I'm thinking of hand quilting it in the big-stitch technique. done with perl cotton. I haven't seen that lately, but ten years ago or so it was pretty popular. It's fast and easy and has a very old-fashioned look.
So those are the first two things on my list. But I also have a wall hanging/banner project that I've promised for a friend's wedding that will be in August. I haven't started that yet either, although I do have a plan--a four-ring Double Wedding Ring with machine embroidered motifs (doves, flowers, bells, etc.) in the ring centers.
And I can hardly get my mind to settle down on any work at all. Our dear Billie (Jesse's other grandmother; Andy's former MIL) is sinking fast. Her family brought her home yesterday. Andy and Jesse and the rest of her family have been at her bedside constantly. Andy and Jesse are so sad. I wish I could comfort them, but I know there's little one can do for someone watching a loved one suffer. I just pray for God's mercy.

OH Susan, I've been meaning to tell you. I also read Starvation Heights. A disturbing story to be sure, but worth the read, if you can swim through the poorly written twists and turns, some of them very confusing until you read on. I was SO tempted to just flip to the back to see how it all turned out, (something I never do) but I had to finish reading all of it to see how many more victims there were and how it all turned out.

Grandmother Billie and all who love her are in my prayers. It is so hard to say good-bye to those we love. May she go in peace when the time comes. Big hugs!
Your various plans sound wonderful and I look forward to seeing each creation in turn.
There is a wonderful book titled "Quilt and Embellish in One Step!" by Linda Potter that I had to buy after looking through the copy from the library. Hope your library has it so you can look at it before you start your large stitch quilting as it may give you more ideas. BTW, AQS has it at a low price if you or someone you know is an AQS member.
More hugs, my friend,
-----
