From left: Rita, Mary S. with one of her pretty pinwheel quilts, and Sally
Yesterday my quilting bee, the Piecemakers, met at the home of Mary S. We had a great time, as always. Mary served us a scrumptious brunch, we talked and laughed, and shared projects we had been working on. I was going to take my African Fabric Journal to share, but I forgot to pick it up on my way out the door. Maybe I'll remember it next time.
Below are a few more photos from yesterday's get-together. Click on any photo to enlarge.

Another of Mary S.'s pinwheel quilts, made from 30s reproduction prints

I have to tell you, Mary, this one makes my eyes do funny things.

Martha's cuddle quilt

Doris used one of her husband's shirts in this quilt.

Sally's art sticks. (I'm going to make some of these.) They're plain old branches cut from shrubbery and wrapped with pieces of bright fabric and tied with embroidery floss. You can also see them in the background of the first photo at the top of this post.

Mary had a little lamb--and I love it.

These quilts and creations are such a treat to see!! Thanks for taking us along to your bee again. Sorry you forgot to take your African Journal. Next time, for sure!
Is Mary's psychodelic creation based on the math Fibonacci Sequence? Don't you imagine it was a challenge to sew accurately?
Those fabric sticks are so wonderfully colorful. Wonder how they'd do out in the weather? What a jazzy touch they'd add to a quilter's garden.
Doesn't the face on Mary's little lamb look like Shari Lewis' Lambchop? Yes, I'm showing my age... sigh!

Oh what fun! I made a ton of those art sticks back in the early 90s to hang my art quilts on. They really are fun!

The small black and tan quilt design creates quite an optical illusion.

Love all the quilts but especially the second one. Is there a pattern for it or did she design it herself? The lamb is too adorable!

WOOOOHOOOO! ART STICKS???? Even I can do that!!! I have so much fabric & I DON'T SEW. But - because I have STICKS AND EMBROIDERY FLOSS, I TOO can create something way cool from fabric! THANK YOU! I'm seriously excited! (Also a little hyper from editing all night & drinking 960 gallons or so of strong coffee.) Oh! LOOOOOVE the quilts & lamb!
