Wha' Happen'?

HeartFebruary 14??? Valentine's Day? Already? Well, that snuck up on me. I had plans to make handmade valentines for family and friends. I guess that won't happen.

Sorry, family and friends. You'll just have to make do with the photo, I guess. I found that stuffed heart at Hobby Lobby recently marked down to 50% off.  Don't you just hate how Hobby Lobby has just about everything marked 30%-70% off so you can't use your coupon. I am convinced that they mark all that stuff up 30-70% to begin with so they can put up all those mark-down signs.

Well, anyway, it's a cute heart.

Had a great time at yesterday's quilters guild meeting. Most of the guild members read my blog and knew about my unfortunate episode of last week. So I got lots of hugs and smiles and "glad to see yous." I love my quilting buddies!

I didn't stay for the program. The subject was leaf-pounding. I've seen the demonstration several times and tried the technique once (made a mess), so I left and did my grocery shopping instead. (I'd rather be pounding leaves, actually, but at least that dreaded task is done.)

We had oodles of show-and-tell. Below are photos of most of it. I might have missed a few shots as I was photographing during the actual show-and-tell presentation, and people kept yelling at me to get out of the way because they couldn't see.

I love a room full of quilts and quilters.

Don't remember who made this. I was too busy trying to take pictures and stay out of everyone's line of sight to get much information. But it sure is pretty.

Rebecca P. made this beauty from some of the October Blocks of the Month that she won.

Vasha made this sweet cuddle quilt from some of the BOM blocks she won last month.

The Krotzers made this (mostly Betty) from a group of Blocks of the Month that they won several years ago.)

Several folks had taken "Divide and Conquer" class with Peggy R. The brown quilt behind Becky B. (left) and Suzie B. is one that was made in the workshop. Not sure if it's Beckky's or Suzie's or someone else's.

This pretty crocheted chenille hat caught my eye, but I can't remember who the lady is under it.

That's all folks. I want you to know that, because of internet problems this morning, I had to create most of this post twice. I'm aggravated and tired, so I think I'll do some relaxation exercises before I start working in my sewing room. I have several projects I'd like to make some headway on today, but not with the attitude I have right now.

Happy Valentine's Day to all. May all your hearts be strong and true.

LOVE your Hobby Lobby heart (I SO miss Hobby Lobby) and reckon you can do that and better before next Valentine's day rolls around.

Thanks for taking us along to guild again. You do have an amazing group of talented quilters that you get to play with! That opportunity quilt is astonishing.

I'm feeling out of sorts today and haven't had the bother of a misbehaving blog to deal with. Even playing with 16 mini paper-pieced quilt blocks hasn't helped much. Wonder what's up?? Hope we both find our usual better attitudes and quickly!

Hugs!

Thanks for showing these beautiful quilts. I think the brown "Divide and Conquer" is most striking. Get lots of rest and get your "stren'th" back!

Susan,
I think Hobby Lobby does it on purpose also :) There's just something about using a coupon!
I am so glad you are feeling better and attended the guild meeting. So many pretty things you shared with us! They are a talented group of ladies.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Donna

You know, sometimes I get so caught up in looking at all the pretty, smiling ladies who DO the quilting, I have to go back and look at the QUILTS! What a nice looking group! And Hobby Lobby. Oh, how I DOOOOO love Hobby Lobby! I went TODAY. AFTER I spent a good two hours drinking coffee and visiting with the staff (all friends) at Barnes & Noble. Then I came home and made Fred Flintstone tostadas! LOL! A VERY nice Valentine morning! YOUR HL heart is ALMOST as beautiful & sweet as YOUR heart. I LOVE YOU, SUSAN! (And I wish I could BE at one of those quilt meetings & see everything up close!)

What a delightful way to honor Dr. Tom's memory. It's a beautiful quilt. I have an attorney down here who has memories of quilting as a little boy, being taught by his mother and grandmother. He is delighted to share! I hope he will come and talk to a quilting group we hope to have here!

Please enter me in the fabric stash giveaway!
