Look what sister Joanne gave me for the Little Yellow Dollhouse. Ramey came over last night for our weekly get-to-gether to watch "Justified," and she brought this little bench and watering can that Joanne had sent me. They're just the perfect size.
Ramey also brought me CDs for Season One of "Downton Abbey." I've heard so much talk about that show, so I've decided to see if it's as good as everyone says. I'll start watching this afternoon.
But for the rest of the morning, I'm going to work on Shelia's "By Hand" journal, my current project for the Circle Journal round robin. I started my spread yesterday, and got a little done.
My friend John H. came by yesterday and brought me a quilting frame that some member of his family had left behind and also a big box of fabric scraps. I can't wait to go through the scraps and see what treasures lurk. John and I had a nice long visit. I've known John since elementary school, and it's always nice to be able to spend some time with him to reminisce.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Ash Wednesday and Lenten season. Are you giving up anything? Not me. I've found that giving stuff up hardly ever works. Instead I'm resolving to pray and meditate more.

You are going to disappear into your tv room until you watch every episode of Downton Abbey. Seriously, you won't be able to do anything until you see them all.

What a charming little porch bench and watering can!! Some little family will love the wonderful Little Yellow Home you're preparing for them!
Isn't it too much fun to inherit fabric scraps?! It was very kind of John to bring the scraps and the quilting frame to you, too.
I've never seen Downtown Abbey either, so please let me know what you think of it.
Ash Wednesday blessings to you!
Hugs!

You're going to LOVE Downton Susan - it's excellent! I'm following you as regards Lent - trying to study the bible more and reflect more and follow my faith more - which seems more worthwhile than giving up chocolate!

Oh, "Justified", I've been so enthralled that I purchased all of Elmore Leonard's books which feature Raylan. I'm familiar with Mr. Leonard as I've read several of his novels including "Get Shorty" and since my husband is a "cowboy", I purchased Leonard's "Cowboy" stories. Little did we know that good ole Elmore actually wrote 3-10 to Yuma". Yipes. Oh, and I so agree with Nicole (which I do on many things). "Downton Abbey" is the best. The story is adequate but the costumes and sets will take your breath away. The hats made me crazy...I wanted each and every one. Why, I don't know. I never wear hats, but I just might wear the ones featured in "Downton" PLEASE REMEMBER HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND REMEMBER THAT WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH.

We love Justified and watch it every week. We are so sad when an episode ends and can't wait to see the next episode!
I watched two episodes of Downton Abbey with my dad when I was down in FL caring for him. He and my mom are totally hooked. I really enjoyed it and now want to go back and watch it all!

I love the little white bench. It will look great in the 'little' yellow house. I'm with you as far as Lent goes...no more feeling guilty for breaking my promises. I am going to spend at least twenty minutes a day in prayer and meditation. Wishing you a prayerful 40 days!
