The Mr. and Mrs. Nick panel arrived yesterday, and I immediately put it up on my design wall to admire. Turns out it's not too big for the quilt I plan to make.
I got out my 105 UFO string-pieced blocks from years ago and started tearing the telephone-book paper from the backs of them. (This paper tearing task is the reason they became a UFO in the first place. I thought they were on my UFO list, but can't find them. They'll be on my 2012 list.) During the watching of "The Witches of Eastwick" and a couple of episodes of "Hot in Cleveland," I got all the paper torn off. Now my right hand carpel tunnel is complaining loudly.
There are so many of the string blocks, that I might decide to use them for something else. I have oodles more orphan blocks that I can use for the Santa quilt if I decide not to use the stringies.
I've been making a list (and checking it twice) this morning of all the things I need to get done before the new year begins. I don't think there's enough time, but I'll give it a shot. First thing on the list is to finish putting away all the downed holiday decorations that lie in boxes all over my house. So I best get to getting. Happy Christmas Day 4 to all.

Those Santa panels are so darn cute, aren't they? They'll be so much fun to do up with whatever ufo's you have.
Do go slow on your to do list, no overdoing! : )

What a cute Santa and Mrs. Santa panel! I look forward to seeing what you pair up with it to make your version of the quilt photo you found on-line.
Wish I had lots of orphan blocks, but I don't. Are your string pieced blocks all squares? I look forward to seeing them laid out in various patterns and I agree you should consider using them in a quilt since you have so many. Of course, they'd make jazzy borders, too. Have fun imagining as you rest your overworked wrists.
My Christmas boxes are hither, thither, and yon around here, too.
Hugs!
