Never count our post office out. Look what was in my mailbox this week, mailed way back in 2005. It's a beautiful fabric postcard, mailed from Mary in the U.K., and unusually fresh and clean to have spent the last six years crossing the Atlantic and getting to Alabama.
Back in 2005, I was into the fabric postcard craze big time. I made and swapped hundreds of these mailable quilts. It was so fun, but I finally decided I'd had enough--after spending probably hundreds of dollars on postage.
Unfortunately I don't remember Mary. There is no return address, no email address, no way to get in touch with her and let her know that the beautiful card finally arrived. She has probably forgot all about it anyway. But I'll treasure it. One of these days, I'll have to blog about some of the hundreds of lovely fabric postcards I received when I was doing this.
After running errands yesterday, I stopped by Andy's house. She was home from work, also sick with allergies, so I decided to take the opportunity to visit my grandkitties. They, however, were still not up for visiting, although much calmed down from the night before. All they wanted to do was snuggle up next to Jesse.
Jesse and Andy named the little boy Billy Boots and will call him Boots. The little girl still doesn't have an official name.
After returning home, I had what can only be described as a sinking spell. Not unusual; I have them regularly. It's like my energy just drains away and I can no longer function except to lie on the couch. This time though, I was also very drowsy. That part was a little unusual, although not unheard of. I'm blaming it all on the allergies and fibro. I feel a little more energetic this morning, but now my back has the miseries. I won't take a muscle relaxer because I have too much to do today to risk lethargy that the MRs sometimes cause. So I think I'll have a nice hot bath instead.
Have a great Thursday, everyone. And remember that tomorrow is UFO Progress Report Day.

Hi Susan -
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blog posts. I get such a kick reading about the goings-on at the Yellow House and about Skipper, Sophie and the new grand-kitties. They are just too dang cute by the way. I hope you are feeling better today.
Blessings to you. :-)

Goodness! It's a wonder that lovely blue fabric postcard arrived at your house at all. Don't you wonder where on earth it's been all this time?
Hope you and Andy are both quickly on the mend from your annoying miseries. Meanwhile, stay cozy ... and perhaps have hot tea or Theraflu?
It's gone from a beautiful autumn day to cold and rainy so I think a cup of hot tea will be next on my list.
Hugs!

WOW! Neither rain nor snow nor nearly 6 years of NOT being delivered ...! It's a lovely postcard! Worth the wait! The kitty-children? I want so MUCH to play with them! Rest today, my lil' friend! I am having a 'not TOO bad' Lupus flare, but it still robs my energy. And it kicks the fibro into gear, so I GET what you're going through! LOVE YOU & I say do ONLY what YOU feel like doing!
