Baby Cats, Bald Dog

Say hello to my new grandkitties. They don't have names yet, but we've been calling the little calico Sister. The black one with the white blaze and white chin is a boy.

I didn't take this picture. Last night's visit didn't go too well. Andy came in the front door with the kittens in a box and Skipper and Sophie went wild--barking and jumping and trying to get into the box to see the kitties. "Sister" went wild as well. She hissed and spit and looked wild-eyed. If you put your hand near her to try to calm her, those tiny little needle claws came out in a speed-of-light swipe. After a few minutes of bedlam, Andy gathered her box of kitties and took them home.

This photo is one that Andy took after she got them home and calmed "Sister" down. The little boy cat was cool. "Dogs? What dogs?"

I am fighting allergies this week. My eyes feel like they're filled with itching powder and my vision keeps blurring up. I'm sneezing and coughing and just generally feeling bad. I took an allergy pill just now. Hoping it will help.

I worked on my crayon bags yesterday while Skipper and Sophie were at the groomer. My quilting bee is making them to give to a women/children shelter in Birmingham. We're supposed to make two each, but I have four cut out and two sewn up. I'll show them maybe tomorrow or soon.

Have you ever gone for a hair cut and said "Ooops!" when you looked in the mirror afterwards? Well Sophie got one of those kind yesterday. I always tell them to cut her short, so that's what I said yesterday. But Haley has cut her only one time before and I guess she needed further instruction on just what I meant by "short." She took it to mean "almost clean shaven. But as I always tell myself when I suffer a haircut catastrophe, "It'll grow back," I said to Sophie. "Easy for you to say," she answered.

I would show you a picture, but Sophie absolutely refuses to be photographed until she is less naked.

if you put perfume on a cat's nose before bringing in a new animal, bedlam wont happen. everything smells the same to the cat and it confuses them. we have used this for years after being told of it by a vet.

What adorable little grandkitties you have! The boy cat looks like he'd be called Cinder or Smudge or Bro!! Sister is a sweetie.

Since we have 2 cats, mother and son, I feel free to add this:
"The trouble with a kitten's that
All too soon it becomes a cat!"
- Ogden Nash (I think)

Great information, Marolyn! Thanks for sharing that tip!

Hope you feel lots better soon. I recommend Theraflu with some honey or sugar in it.

Hugs!

Oh, I have kitty envy! I WANT ONE!!!! (You KNOW I love cats!) Yay, Andy! I'm SO glad you have some beautiful new kitty-children! And Susan, I hope you feel SO much better soon! I don't know about YOU, but if I had MY way, I'd OUTLAW all this feeling bad garbage! It gets in the way of what I want to DO! Finally, tell Ms. Sophie that Aunty Kai thinks she'd look beautiful even if she had ZERO hair!

@Marolyn: Will that perfume trick stop my dogs from going postal when the kittens are brought in?
