Where Once There Was Mud...

Backyard2

My landscaping friend Steve and another young fellow spent the day in my back yard yesterday, and now it's a whole 'nuther place from the dirty, muddy mess that it once was. There's more sprucing to be done, and some more planting, but I am very very happy so far.

The dogs were a little confused at first--especially Skipper. He made an attempt to dig in the pea gravel on the walkway but didn't get very far. So he moved over onto the sparsely grassed area and started digging, and Andy spanked him a little. So he went off to the far side of the yard and dug, where I don't care if he digs to China.

My Andy is now a homeowner (also a mortgage owner). I went with her yesterday (for moral support) to close on her loan. Then she and Jesse and I went by the Little Yellow House. It was the first time Jesse had seen it. I think he liked what he saw. Although, as a rule, Jesse tries to stay quite negative on most subjects, he failed for find anything really wrong with the house--except that the refrigerator needs leveling. They will begin moving today.

Such wonderful progress on your backyard and the new little house for Andy and Jesse. Great going, y'all!

What a wonderful walkway you now have and it's such an improvement over the previous distressing mess! I hope Skipper gets the message that he has permission to dig in the far back yard and not near the house.

Happy dancing for Andy and Jesse and wish them well with the hassles of moving. Will you take dinner to them or will they come to your house for dinner - or neither?! May Andy have many years of joy within those walls.

Hugs!

I love the new look in the yard, and hope that Skipper doesn't find a way to dig in the pathways and beds. Andy's new house is lovely. Best wishes to her and Jesse in their new home.

Nice look for your backyard make-over!! (have you explained the concept to Skipper)? Andy's Little Yellow House is so welcoming! And, leveling the 'frig doesn't seem like much of a problem! If that's all that needs attention that's terrific! Congrats to the new home owner!!!

Susan, it looks fantastic. I'll be showing it to my husband - he will love it, too.

Congratulations to Andy and Jesse. You must be so excited for them.

Your yard looks REALLY great! What a nice place to sit outside now! And, sorry Skipper, but no digging up mom's new pathway! (Ms. Sophie is going to look very dignified out there! LOL!) Andy, your new home is wonderful! I'm so happy for you!
