This beautiful autumn weather has me feeling better every day. I wish I had this pretty pink bike (photo found on Pinterest). I'd ride it up and down my street with Skipper and Sophie in the basket. Yeah, yeah. Pipe dreams. They'd jump out the chase the first cat they saw. But it's nice to ponder.
I had a very busy errand-running day yesterday, with stops at the copy shop, WalMart, and Home Goods. I had lunch at Max's Deli, a place I'd never been before. I read an article reporting that the owner of Max's has been receiving hate mail and boycott threats because he employs some Hispanic people--all of them legal, but this is Alabama you know. Famous for our bigotry. And we have this bright and shiny new anti-immigration law.
Anyway, I vowed to frequent Max's as often as possible. Yesterday I had a grilled chicken salad, which was beyond delicious. Now I can't wait for my next chance to eat there. Any of you who live near the Colonade in Bham, Alabama, I recommend you do the same.
Today is laundry day, so I best shake a tail feather. Happy weekend everyone.
Oh yeah, I'm linking to Beverly's Pink Saturday and taking a quick hop over to her blog to see what's pinking today.

Love the pink bicycle and I did a double take when reading about Sophie and Skipper riding in the basket! I could see them bailing out before I read your next phrase.
I hope Max's Deli is a roaring success. In the Bible Belt, it's amazing and awful how people could be such hateful bigots after so many grew up singing "Red and yellow, black and white, They are precious in His sight ..." and learning "God is love." in Sunday School. May the good hearted people of the Bham area flock to Max's! I'm too far away so don't look for me. Sigh! I'd love to have their grilled chicken salad.
Have already done one load of laundry, am starting the next load, and plan to sew before my eyes cross from sewing two black fabrics together.
Hugs!

Good for you for being a patron of Max's...I would too if I lived closer. Love the bike.

Oh, I love that bike! Thanks for the story about Max's. I live in Washington State. My son is living in Alabama. (Cropwell) I've not been there yet, but I will! He is a 20 year old Professional Bass Fisherman. He has noticed the bigotry too, but he loves the beauty and the fishing! Have a wonderful weekend. Happy Pink Saturday!

Good on you Susan for eating at Max's Deli - I hope you don't suffer any repercussions from doing so. I find it very difficult (perhaps not after all) to believe that bigotry is still alive and well in this day and age. As far as the anti-immigration law is concerned don't Americans (and we Canadians) realize that we are all descended from immigrants?

Good for you going to Max's Deli! They'll need lots of support from the sound of it! Wouldn't riding a bicycle with the dogs along be fun? I have a convertible and neither of ours' have ever--or will ever--take a ride in it! First suspected 4-legged ANYTHING and they'd be overboard chasing!!!

I bought a new bike this year and now with the cooler temps, I believe I'll start riding it again.

If I had tons of $$ I'd BUY & MAIL you a pretty pink bike, my sweet lil' friend! But I suspect two lil' doggies - or at least ONE lil' SKIPPER - would leap right out of the basket. LOL! As for Max - blessings on him! My father (and you KNOW I use that term cringingly when I speak of him) was born in Pineapple, Alabama & raised in Andalusia, Alabama. It took me sooooo many years NOT to associate Alabama with MONSTERS. Then I met beautiful people from there both in person & online. You are AWESOME & I'm so pleased that you stand up for what is right. I LOVE YOU!!!!

I used could ride a bike, but not sure if I could now. It would be nice having a pink one like this. Trust all is well with you.

I love the pink bike with its sweet basket! I'm from Louisiana and have family roots in Alabama -- mainly Tuscaloosa but a bit in B'ham. If I were there I'd ride that pink bike to Max's every day!
