UFO Progress Report: Week 36-37 (I think)

UFO1 This week, I pulled out UFO #24, "Cozy Cottages," and finished the hand embroidery on the blocks. I started these hand-appliqued blocks in 1997 after seeing the new Piecemaker's calendar for that year. The original plan was to make the exact quilt on the cover of the calendar. But enthusiasm for the project waned, as sometimes happens with our projects, and I have only six blocks completed. So instead of lying around in a pizza box for 14 more years, these six blocks are going into a wall hanging.

Hi!

LOVE the blocks and somewhere around here and applaud your idea to make these blocks into a wall hanging. I have that calendar because I loved the whimsical and cozy cottages and intended to make the quilt ... someday. My "someday" hasn't arrived yet.

Did you get my email of my little bit of UFO progress for the week?

It's gloriously cool here today and the high is supposed to be 68*F!!! Joy!

Hope you're feeling good and that you'll have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs!

Oh dear, no "edit" function available to use so I can correct that crazy 1st sentence. :(

I remember that calendar Susan - I had it on my wall too. Your blocks are adorable - and just as nice in a 6 block wall hanging as in a bigger piece.
Have a great weekend!

What pretty cottages! I think those will make a perfect wall hanging. You put so much work into those already, it's really sad that they've sat so long! I don't have much to report this week, and I'm being super lazy today about writing a blog post, so I'm sitting this week out. I'll be back next week though!

I adore your cottages! This will be a wonderful wall hanging. I haven't sewn much this week ... nothing to share.
