Susan, I've never commented before, but I have been following your blog for a while with a sense of deja vu. You see, I lost my Wayne on October 31, 2009 to cancer. A second marriage for us both--20 years of joy with the love of my life. My heart goes out to you, since I do know firsthand how you feel. Keep thinking of Vann. He is with you always.

When I first clicked here and saw your Vann, I thought of the song Gentle On My Mind. I know Vann is always gentle on your mind and your heart.♥ The thought made me bring up the song. I'm listening to it now, and I'm thinking of the happy days the two of you shared - and of your eternal love.

I cannot imagine how you must feel every day. I cannot imagine how it must hurt when special days come around. I cannot imagine how lonesome you must feel sometimes, knowing that half of you is gone. Peace and love to you on this day. The first time I ever read your blog, I had clicked on it because the title "Blackberry Creek" got my attention. (I grew up loving to pick and eat wild blackberries). Then I started to read about Vann and his struggle with cancer. That captured my heart.
