Orange Pile Progress

Pink:Orange

I have two more of the small quilts that Debra quilted for me left to bind. That's one of them in the photo above. I made that top one weekend in an online workshop with Pat Sloan back in the winter of 2009. The subject of the workshop was the color orange--I think the challenge was called the OP (Orange Pile Challenge). Our first instruction was to gather all the orange fabric in our stashes and show photos on our blog.

I don't have a clue what I'll do with this once it's bound. It would make a good baby quilt for a little girl I think. Oh, and I know someone who's having a girl in a few months. Well, that's settled.

I'll show a photo of the whole quilt once it's bound. If you can't wait that long, there are photos of it in progress in my February 2009 blog archives. Even maybe instructions of how to make the block--maybe.

I wanted to go to church this morning, but it's not happening. My back is really acting up. If I lie down, I'm ok. If I sit, I can stand it for a while. But if I stand up and walk, it's excruciating. I think maybe a trip to Dr. N. is in order. The muscles relaxers haven't been helping a lot for the past few days.

So I'm probably going to spend the rest of the day reading. I hope all of you have a wonderful Sunday.

I've been waiting to see this one show up again! I found your blog through that OP project and have read you every since! Love the OP challenge, and can't wait to see it finished!

Susan, I participated in the OP Challenge, though I didn't get my project finished because I had surgery shortly after and never got back to it. It was great fun until I was the winner of the grand prize from a giveaway at a quilt shop in Canada...A complete quilt kit, including backing. I was so excited, it was the first giveaway I had ever won and I had been quilting just barely one year. But as it turned out, none of the winners from that quilt shop received their prizes. The second and third place were supposed to receive beautiful quilt panels. Not sure what ever happened, didn't hear anything, though I did get a couple of emails from Pat Sloan letting me know that she was after the lady to get things taken care of. Ah well, it was still a truly fun weekend. I started out saying I didn't have any orange in my meager stash and was completely shocked to find enough to make a small quilt. Your quilt is really fun and cheerful. I agree that it would make a great little girls quilt. Hugs...

Hi Susan~ I wonder how many of us have an Orange Pile quilt half-way finished on our list of to-do's. I'm raising my hand! I've been thinking lately of that Orange Quilt and wondering if I should tackle it next. Yours is lovely.

I'm finding out that I'm doing my UFO list about the way I started and stopped my original projects years ago....first this one, then switch to another one...a little bit at a time...but not a lot gets marked off. Maybe I should stick with one thing at a time--both with UFOs and with new projects! Novel idea! :)
