I can't remember ever having a better birthday than I had yesterday. Thank you all for your sweet notes and birthday wishes, those who posted them and those who didn't.
Andy and I met at a new (for me) Mexican restaurant and had a great lunch. I think it is now my new favorite place for Mexican food. (For those of you in the area, it's called Hacienda Mexican Grill and it's located in the little strip mall just east of Wal-Mart in Irondale.)
Andy knows the girl who was our waitress, and she told her that it was my birthday. Andy warned me to be on guard because they usually come out with some kind of noise maker and a dessert and sing "Happy Birthday" to birthday people.
So after we had finished our lunch and were sitting talking, a great noise ensued behind me (sounded like a Thompson machine gun to me). I screamed and tried to crawl through the brick wall beside our booth. And even though Andy saw them coming, it scared her too. But the tasty sopapilla, served with honey, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce, made up for the scare.
After lunch, we went on up the street to the new Edge movie theatre to see "Red Riding Hood" on it's release day. The movie was great, in spite of all the interruptions. This new theatre hasn't quite got its act together. The movie kept stopping. I think it did that about eight or ten times. And since the projectionist (or whatever they're called now) wasn't staying at his post, every time the movie stopped, somebody (somebody being the fellow sitting behind us) had to go out to the lobby and have somebody find him. It was quite aggravating, but we all got free passes out of it. And when RRH comes to PPV or Red Box, I'm going to watch it again. It was a much better movie than I even expected it to be. Bet it'll be even better when I get to watch it all the way through without interruptions.
After the movie, Andy and I went grocery shopping, then home. Sophie, Skipper, and I went over to Paul's and visited with neighbors in his driveway for about an hour, then came home.
Later in the evening, my sister Ramey stopped by with the beautiful tea cup filled with spring flowers, pictured above and below.
So in spite of the near heart attack from the Mexican noise maker and the movie that wouldn't keep playing, it was a WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY. So now, on to the sewing room.
BTW, I'm linking to Beverly's Green and Pink Saturday today. She added green today in honor of St. Patty's Day.
And remember, everybody, to turn your clocks forward one hour tonight so you won't be late for church or whatever you're planning tomorrow. I hate springing forward. One of these days, I'm going to do like the grandparents of a friend of mine always did--they refused to spring.

Happy Birthday for yesterday, Susan. So glad that you had a great day. The flowers in a tea cup are gorgeous.
Its still Winter here, so its hard to believe that its warm enough for you to gather on a driveway for a social event.

I'm SO happy you had a good bd! I laughed myself silly over your description of the - uh - rather loud 'surprise' at the Mexican restaurant! Hey, maybe the stop-and-start movie issue was designed to allow patrons to catch their collective breath after scary stuff happened. LOL! That HAD to be annoying! I am NOT happy when I'm interrupted during ANY movie or program! Awhile ago I was watching THE BREAKOUT KINGS, a new A&E series (I had taped the pilot and saved it for today) when - CRUD! - the guy directly across the street decided to bang FOREVER on a tire rim, trying to remove it, AND the people next door to HIM started using my very least favorite EVER tool - the dreaded leaf blower. ARRRRRGGGHHH! I had to swallow a BUNCH of bad language! Anyway, I'm GLAD you and Andy saw the movie, & had a nice meal, and glad Ramey brought you such a pretty gifty! Also glad you and your friends gathered awhile at Paul's! LOVE YOU, SWEET GIRL!
