Boy! There was way too much going on yesterday. First I attended my sweet friend Lori's surprise 50h birthday party at one of our city parks. Lori's amazing husband, Greg, arranged the whole affair, even bringing Lori's dad, siblings, and other family in from out of town. Lori was totally surprised, and there were lots of tears of joy shed on this lovely spring day.
I went grocery shopping after the party, came home, carried in and put away my groceries, then took a nap. I was completely exhausted by then and my allergies had kicked into overdrive in spite of the allergy meds I had taken. You see, the cherry trees and other lovelies were in full bloom at the park, so I probably inhaled about a ton of pollen. But it was well worth the bother.
The doggies woke me from my nap way before I was ready to be woken (wakened? awoken? awaked? I never can get that word right.). I spent the late afternoon and evening reading and making more hexie flowers. (It was also National Quilting Day; did you do anything to celebrate?)
After the moon had risen (arisen? arose? I'm having verb trouble today.)--the Supermoon, remember--I was still way too tired to go for a real walk. But the doggies and I did go out into the back yard and play in the moonlight. Well, they played and sniffed, I walked around and looked at the moon.
Sometime after we went to bed, Spring arrived, but she didn't wake me up. I, in fact, didn't wake up until 8:00 when Skipper went into a paroxysm of barking that almost brought me out of bed.
So with party, shopping, sewing, reading, mooning, and spring's arrival, it was quite a big day. I thought of staying in today and resting, but I decided instead that I would go to church and celebrate my incredible blessings. Happy Spring Equinox to all.

Happy Spring, Mama! I am so glad the cold weather is behind us for a few months.
I went out and looked at the moon last night. I have to say, I wasn't sure what all the hoop-la was about. It just looked like a regular full moon to me. But, it was beautiful.
Glad you had a good rest last night. Enjoy your church service! C-YA!

Yeah, A, I agree. It didn't look any different from a regular full moon.

Oh, I forgot to get outside and see it! What do you think of the new CM? Or I guess more accurately CS.

Yes, I celebrated by going to a fabric shop here in Maine http://www.fabricgarden.com/ and I saw a table runner demo and got two patterns and a free bag of fabric! I went with my very good friend. It was a nice time out. The moon looked very pretty and big for about a half hour at the beginning of the night, then after that, a normal full moon.

What a gorgeous photo of you with your pretty friend, Lori! And her husband DEFINITELY gets Brownie points (LOTS of them) for surprising her so beautifully! That was REALLY a lovely thing for him to do! I'd say you DESERVE to rest after all that activity yesterday. My GOODNESS! Partying, shopping, mooning! (Don't they arrest - or at least TICKET - folks for that? Oh! Not THAT kind of mooning, huh? LOL!) I'm not going to lie and say I'm grateful for Spring, but I AM grateful that my sweet friends are all happy to greet the season! As for ME, I'm already counting down till Autumn. Sigh ...

Happy Birthday, Loribelle, and applause for your sweet hubby, too! Great photo of two lovely women!
Your Saturday schedule tired me out just reading about it.
I agree the moon looked like a normal full moon for my yard, too.
Happy spring!!
Hugs!
