I have a quilting friend named Ella. I don't have a good photo of Ella. This one at left will have to do. It seems that every shot I can find of her is an accidental one that I took while actually shooting a quilt.
Ella has a sweet sister, Edna, who was born with cerebral palsy.
"Edna is unable to walk, tallk, or do anything for herself," Ella says of her sister. "She is totally dependent upon our family for her care and lives in our family home with my brother.
"Edna brings a lot of joy to us with her constant smiles and laughter," Ella continues. "She understands everything and 'gossips' by making sounds as we guess who or what she is trying to tell us. We have a lot of fun!"
This is Edna at her last birthday party.
Edna will be celebrating her 62nd birthday on April 2. This lady loves birthdays, birthday parties, and birthday cards. Her nieces always read every card to her during her parties. Last year, Birmingham Quilters Guild members got in on the fun and sent Edna birthday cards. This year, I thought some of you would like to help make her birthday fun by sending her a card. I plan to; I wouldn't miss it for the world!
Below is Edna's address if you'd like to send a card for her special day. And below the address is a photo of some of the cards Edna received last year. Let's see if we can make it necessary for her family to set up another table or two to display Edna's cards this year.
