Buttons & Books

Buttons1

Yesterday afternoon, I went to Mary U.'s house for our monthly book club meeting. Although there were only five of us present, it was a great meeting with lots of discussion about the excellent book, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime.

After the meeting ended, I stopped by a few yard sales. I found a beautiful bag of buttons (shown above), a pretty cardinal picture for my bird wall, and two sheet sets for Andy.

Then I came home to a house full of barking dogs. Two small dogs can be a house full when they're barking a top volume.

Happy Pink Saturday, everyone. I hope you plan to get out tonight and revel under the Supermoon. The moon will be the closest to earth that it has been in 18 years--and full. Coinciding as is does with the Spring equinox, this full supermoon is causing many endtimers to predict disaster tonight. But the dogs and I are not afraid. We're going for a walk in the neighborhood and soak up some super moonlight.

I loooooove BUTTONS & you got some beautiful ones! I'm glad your book club meeting was fun! I need to start one over here! But for today, my uncle is visiting and yesterday he surprised me with a gorgeous flute he hand carved! He is teaching me to play. Correction: he is gritting his Comanche teeth and ATTEMPTING to teach me. LOL!

What beautiful buttons!!!!!!! Whatever shall you do with them? After seeing the pictures, I've been mulling over what to do with my Grandma's buttons and some eBay buttons I've had for years. Some of Grandma's buttons should go on a pillow and perhaps the eBay buttons will go on a lampshade.

Hope you'll show us the cardinal picture soon.

Let's all be moonstruck tonight!

Hugs!

Susan, I love Alabama. My mother's side is from Gadsden/Rome, GA, so there are lots of cousins scattered in those two states. And you and I have so much in common with sewing. OH OOOOHH LA LA YOUR BUTTONS Such a find. And as you gather your button back up and put them in a jar to look and if your dogs are barking at that full moon, don't fret -- no evil comes to your door. I was outside last night and it was a light as 6:00 p.m. you'd never thought it was midnight. and i so enjoyed that full moon and it raced away from me in now time and was up over my house and in the front. Chasing the moon at midnight what a delight. Hugs Terri www.morningdewdrops.typepad.com
