The trees are blooming, the birds are tweeting, my eyes are watering and itching. Yep, spring has come to Alabama.

Now here's an opportunity for you to help someone else. Our friend Debra at Debra's Design Studio is organizing a quilt project to help raise funds for American Cancer Society. Last year, Debra's quilt brought $1,500 at her community's annual ACS auction. This year, she has asked her quilting friends, including us, to help her get the quilt done. All you have to do is make nine-patch blocks--just one, or as many as you like. The illustration above shows how the finished quilt will look. It's unbelievable to think that March is already here. It was just Christmas, for goodness sake. I never cease to be amazed at how each year is shorter than the last. Guess I'd better start planning Thanksgiving dinner, huh?

I'm mulling over whether I can help Debra. Hope so.
My 1st two itty bitty quilts are now pictured in the Waiting for Assignment section of www.alzquilts.org and I find that very exciting! Perhaps this is my umph to complete the 5 that are nearly finished.
Our forsythia have a pale yellow haze in their branches and some of the plum trees are beginning to bloom. Sniffle, sneeze!

I've entered a lot of CSN giveaways on various blogs and always have to go and droll over the site...I like some of the Le Cruset items and ended up getting a stock pot. Wow! Is that thing thick and heavy duty! I like the quality...but it takes forever to boil water in it! I also have my eye on a deluxe ice cream maker for this summer...$45 would help in covering that high dollar item. Thanks Susan!

no trees blooming or birds tweeting here!! we still have a foot(or more) of snow on the ground. it will be a while before we see any real signs of spring. and tonight it is supposed to go down to 10 degrees BELOW zero!! so, i'll enjoy seeing the pictures and reading about signs of spring in other parts of the country....

Hi Susan, I am familiar with CSN - in fact I ordered a slipcover from them which I unfortunately had to return as it was way too big - most likely my measurement fault - but they seem to be a lovely helpful bunch of people so I'd love to have another go with them.
Sorry your allergies are acting up - our ground is still frozen and we had snow squalls this morning - so Spring will be a little while yet in making its appearance in my part of the world.
