Good News Reports

Gene1 Thank you all for your prayers, thoughts, and comments for my friend Gene. He came through the 8 1/2-hour surgery fine. His wife said he was alert and responding when she was able to see him in ICU. The surgeon believes the tumors to be glioma, but they won't know for sure for several days until the results of the biopsy come back. The surgeon removed all of the tumors that he was able to get to.

The photo is Gene, Sophie, and one of Gene's granddogs, Misty.

More good news this morning. For a couple of weeks now, Andy has thought she was going to lose her job in an employee cutback. This morning, she learned she was keeping her job. God is good.

Jesse is on his third day of his new job. I talked with him last night and he says he likes it.

I haven't been doing any sewing this week. Just don't feel like it. Andy called me a while ago and told me that Mr. Groundhog didn't see his shadow, so maybe this cold weather is on its way out and I'll feel better soon. I'm sure Mr. Groundhog is even now on a hunt for Ms. Groundhog. Happy Groundhog Day to everyone.

I'm going to bake a hummingbird cake today to take to Gene's family (on the street behind me). Then maybe an afternoon nap with Frick and Frack (Sophie and Skipper). I pray that all of you in the path of the blizzard are staying warm and safe. It's cold here, but no snow. In fact, the sun is trying to creep out.

So glad everybody has good news! Hope you're warm. We have snow up to our fannies here! Under state of emergency even! Oh well, that's what you expect in Indiana in winter! Pat Mr.Groundhog on the head for a good report! Spring really does need to come soon!

What good news about Gene, Andy, and Jesse!!!!! Thanks be to God!!

It's sunny and nearly 70*F here in VA. It is so strange to think of all of the snow that's falling over so much of the country today when we're so warm. Tonight's low will be about 30*F so it's still winter.

Yum! Hummingbird cake! AMIL froze half of the one she made for Christmas so we'll have that soon.

Not much sewing here either but yesterday I did find lots of orphan blocks and bits to use on more itty bitty Alzheimer's quilts. I took the $1000 pledge yesterday so hope I don't lose my momentum before I earn them $1000 in itty bitty quilt sales.

Hugs!

Thanks to Jesus for all the good news! Love the pic of Gene and the doggies. I'm exhausted and hungry from writing all morning, so I'm going to thaw out some leftovers. Wish I had one of your delicous HB cakes! I feel like I could eat the WHOLE THING!

Susan, what a good news day! Even the thought of your Hummingbird Cake is making me drool! Your friends will enjoy that. ...and I ended up "finding" Mr. Linky after all. I think I'm just still so new to Blog-land.

You are a truly great southern lady (that is what a guy that I know from Alabama always called my mama) to bake a cake for your friends when you have fibro and don't feel like sewing. So glad that you have lots of good news to report. God bless you, your family, and your friend Gene and his family.

We are snowed in big time here in Oklahoma. The temp is below zero as I type. More snow coming on Monday, but not as much. I haven't sewed this week because the lupus is still being a pain.
