Good News at Last!

N1069156779_30383204_1651324 After all the sorrow and worry of the past week, finally some good news arrived this morning. My handsome grandson Jesse got a job! He has been looking for almost two years without success and has had to make do with small jobs he could pick up now and then. But this is a real job with a salary and everything. We are a happy family this morning. Thank you, God.

Y'all be sure to visit Debra's Design studio again this morning. She already has Barbara's quilt top quilted and it looks beautiful. She also made a table runner out of some of the blocks that Barbara sent her. Two beautiful pieces for the Special Olympics silent auction. Good work, Barbara and Debra. And thanks again, Debra, for working with us to help find good homes for some of our UFOs.

Get-attachment.aspx Look what my talented friend Marla sent me. If you've been reading my blog for long, I don't have to tell you who this is. Marla sketched Sophie on her iPad, no less. I can't even sketch with paper and pencil. She says she's working on a sketch of Skipper, so I'm not going to show him Sophie's pic till he gets one too. That little dog is so jealous of anything Sophie gets. I always buy two rawhide bones so that they'll each have one to chew. But I have to stand guard while Sophie chews. Skipper wants to hoard all the bones for himself.

I didn't feel like sewing yesterday, so I finished another Diane Phalen puzzle and ordered two more. I can't wait to have them all done and show you what I'm planning to do with them.

Little Green Man Quilter Logo Note to UFO Busters: Remember that tomorrow is Progress Report Day. If you have anything to show and/or tell, please be sure to add your link to the Mr. Linky that will appear on this blog tomorrow morning. In fact, even if you don't have anything to show, you can add your link and just tell us what you're working on, or thinking of working on, or not working on. As I have said many times, this is a no-stress, no-pressure project.

Hi Susan!

Cheers for Jesse's job!!!!!!!!!!! I hope it's one that suits his talents and interests, but a regular salary is a good place to start!

Where do you find the Diane Phalen puzzles?

I LOVE all the work Debra did on the row quilt and the table runner!!!

What a great drawing Marla did of Miss Sophie! I look forward to seeing Skipper's portrait. You can get one of those book-like picture frames for two!

I meant to ask yesterday ... how is Gene doing? Hope and pray that there's good news from him, too.

My Thursday report is already in your IN box but it's amazing for me to be early two weeks in a row. This might not keep up. Will send you an update if I happen to do anything of note this afternoon.

Hugs!

Now that's some really good news! Well done Jesse - quite an achievement in these difficult economic times. It must be such a weight off your and Andy's shoulders. Two years is a long time to be looking - it shows strength of character that Jesse persevered. A lot of kids would just have given up.
Maybe this is the start of things looking up! I certainly hope so!

I love Barbara and Debra's finished quilt and runner!

Congrats to Jesse--I hope it's a job he will love. (I still say y'all should have sent him to Hollywood.)

Yay for Jesse! That is great! Love that drawing. Amazing.

Thanks for the prompt about tomorrow. I knew there was something I needed to post tomorrow but I couldn't remember! haha. Too much going on!

Hurray for the job! I can't sketch either. Can barely scrawl my name. I was thinking about you during CM last night. Wondering if you were as horrified by what was going on as I was. Good show though. I saw lots of crimes that were crazy during my journalist days. But those two last night sure did take the cake!

Congrats on him getting a job. In this economy that is really something. I totally agree with you about hearing so much bad news. My friend is still in the hospital. There is so many that have lost love ones and are hurting it is really amazing. So many need our prayers.

Susan, congratulations to all on Jessee landing a job after so much time - hope it is something that he will find fulfilling. He can be proud to have done so in these difficult economic times.
As Helen says let's hope that this is the start of a good trend.

WOOOOHOOOOO! Good on YOU, Jesse! (And OH MY GOODNESS! Is that boy ever a DOLL! Okay - I'm old and heavy and plain plus blind in my right eye. But, HEY! I can see him out of my LEFT eye! LOL!) Seriously, I'm so glad for him! And Miss Sophie! Wow! You've been immortalized in a drawing! Can't wait to see Skipper's, too! I always SAY I'm not as much a doggy person but I KNOW that's not true because I'm in love with YOUR doggies! BIG OLD HUGS FOR YOU TODAY!
