I missed the eclipse last night. I woke up sometime in the night and was just too warm and cozy to care. So I went back to sleep. But I think we had cloud cover anyway, at least when I got up at about 7:00 we did. I have enjoyed seeing the photos though. Did any of you see the blood red soltice moon in eclipse last night?
Are you glad winter is here? We've already had a couple of snow/sleet events, but nothing of consequence. Except that it's consequential that it came in autumn. It is very unusual until the past couple of years to have snow in our area before January. And even then, we don't get a lot.
I was very tired and sleepy when I got home last night from my Sunday school Christmas party. I think that eating too many carbs probably had something to do with that.
The food was fantastic; we went with the theme "breakfast for supper." Veronica made some kind of baked French toast that was better than good. That's really the dish that caused me to overdo it. I went back for seconds on that. I made hot curried fruit, and it was good too, if I do say so. It was the first time I had ever made this easy dish.
I told Sophie and Skipper that if they were good doggies, Santy Claus would visit them and leave treats under the tree. Skipper thought I said "Sandy Claws," and he's been on the lookout for a kitty cat fresh out of the litter box ever since.
I swear, I'm going to have to get that boy some pants.

I got up at 1:30a to take a look and it was too early for anything to have happened. A little later, I was too cozy and sleepy to get up again. Oh, well!
Baked French toast sounds absolutely wonderful. Your curried fruit is something I thought about making until AMIL said she didn't like curried anything. I may make it anyway. I do want to make cranberry chutney so I'd better get to it.
The newspaper says our area may get 6" of snow on Christmas day!
The quilt is in the hands of the USPS so please pray it arrives promptly and safely at its destination. I'm holding my breath.
Hugs!

I'm envious of your weather! It's 80 degrees here and doesn't feel like Christmas. Hoping the cold front comes through by the 24th so I can at least wear a holiday sweater!

Still laughing at your comment about getting pants for Skipper. Mmm hmm.
I just read a recipe for the best sounding make ahead breakfast casserole made with cinnamon raisin bread and maple syrup. Got to try that!

The tree looks lovely - good luck finding pants for Skipper and your hot curried fruit dish sounds interesting.
We decorated the tree on the weekend and I am just about finished my shopping. A trip to a local drug store will probably finish up my stocking stuffers- though the stockings won't be opened until January when our son returns from his trip to his girlfriend's family.
Have a wonderful Christmas season and all the best in 2011.
Warmest regards,
Anna

Sounds like you may be here in Texas! Are you? I'm in Houston & we hit - UGH - 82 today. 'Tis the season to be HOT. Sigh. I hope the front comes through EARLY - at least by noon - on Friday so it will SORTA feel like Christmas Eve!

Your tree is lovely and Skipper is just a hoot!
I missed the eclipse last night too! I could see the moon when I went to bed at 11 p.m., woke up about 2 but was too cozy to drag myself up.
I hope you have a Merry Christmas!
Hugs,
Donna

Maybe some of that spray hair dye that guy used to demonstrate on TV would help out with Skipper's "bullseye" problem. I think it's cute. I've had that baked french toast before and it's definitely a second helper!

I did see the eclipse. It was early here for us, about 10:40. And it was crystal clear skies, which I find so odd actually. Almost everyone down south was commenting on their cloudy skies, and here in Alaska, where it normally always clouded over, we had clear skies. I thought the eclipse was kind of creepy. The moon shouldn't be red. Ever.
Breakfast for dinner is always a winner. Glad you had a good time.
Enjoy the holidays!
