Well, I hit a dip yesterday. Didn't get as much done, wasn't as spunky as the past few days. But I did get most of the downstairs straightened up from the decorating mess. Linda and Joe are coming today, so they'll do the heavy cleaning while I do something that can be done sitting down--like addressing Christmas cards maybe.
Each and every ornament on that tree has a memory attached, it seems. A lot of them are handmade by family and friends--and me. Some were gifts from family and friends. And some were just bought at special places or special times. Some date back to when my children we little, a few decades ago. And some, well I've just forgot where some of them came from.
I have my cardinal tree up and decorated too. You remember? The little tiny white tree that I got last year to display all the cardinals that everyone sent me after I decided that beautiful red bird was my totem. This all happened during Vann's illness. I kept seeing redbirds everywhere. I'll show photos of the cardinal tree tomorrow.

Thanks for showing us your lovely tree with all the decorations that have long lasting meaning to you. Very pretty! I'm anxious to see the cardinal tree too.

Very nice! Your style of ornaments is like mine--handmade, homey, rustic and folk artish. We haven't got our tree yet, but I love pulling out all those special ornaments and enjoying the memories.

What a lovely Christmas tree, decorated as it should be with things you love and that mean something to you. The bay window is a perfect setting for the tree, too! Thank you for taking close-ups of many of your charming ornaments, too.
Last week when watching an HGTV show arrogantly titled something like the Dos and Don't of Holiday Decorating, I found #11 for your what I hate about Christmas list: decorators who presume to know how folks should decorate their own Christmas trees - as if there is a wrong way!! One actually said trees should not have a great variety of ornament or be loaded with ornaments and that irritated me. The very idea!!
I applaud your good sense in taking a day of rest and Christmas cards to get your spoon supply refilled.
I look forward to seeing the cardinal tree!
Hugs to you, Sophie, and Skipper!

Your tree is beautiful. I usually use memory decorations on our tree too, but this year I decided to go with "new". It's a pretty tree but I miss looking at all the memory decorations and remembering.

So, so pretty! NOTHING - absolutely NOTHING - makes me smile more than Christmas trees! (I love ALL your ornaments, but my favorite is the ballerina with her Nutcracker!)

How pretty! You certainly got that tree done fast. It looks so nice there in the little bay window area. Good you could rest after some very busy days. Merry Christmas!

I like the variety of everything I've collected through the years--and lots of it. I decorate till I run out of ornaments or tree limbs, whichever comes first. Pooh on decorators.

I can't believe you still have your angel on top of the tree. A cat peed on mine a long time ago, so I got a new lighted one that I used every year till a cat peed on it too.

My angel is, according to my calculations, 30 years old.
