More Retreat Progress

Here are the projects that Pat McDonald worked on during our retreat.

Pat M2

Of this gorgeous top, Pat says, "It is a Quilt Soup pattern, but I changed the crazy log cabin blocks and redesigned my own lady bugs.  Also, I added the blue birds."

Pat M3

And here's what Pat says about her "Dear Jane" blocks: "On Oct. 1st, I started the Dear Jane quilt.  I love every bit of the process!  Figuring out the angles to cut for patterns, cutting the fabric, and hand sewing has been great fun.  (Does that mean I really need to get out more often?!)  I've cut and assembled the first four rows in baggies( I was so confident I'd have enough time to sew them all).  The 1st row was hand sewn before our retreat.  But the 2nd row, I was able to sew in the six hours."

Brita was able to get a few more blocks done for her beautiful pastel sampler quilt. But her kitty, Miss Annabelle, couldn't stick with it. She curled up in her basket and did what cats do best--napped.

If you haven't had a chance to visit the retreaters who have blogs, I hoper you're able to do that soon. There's lots more fun to be seen. Thank you all again for taking part in this online retreat. We'll do it again next year--if not before.

Not only were we having a retreat with a lovely southern lady, but one that just happens to be a retired editor of many quilt books and magazines! Thank you Susan! Sandy Gail

Hi Susie!

Hope you've recovered from the marathon of sewing and that the gates have been properly hung to keep the furry kids in the yard.

I also meant to say thank you for the prize I won but awoke in the night thinking I hadn't said that. Thank you!

Pat, what a happy quilt you've made with flowers, birds, and all! I'm astonished at your Dear Jane blocks and that you did that 2nd row in merely 6 hours! Way to go!

Brita, your new blocks are lovely! I think your quilt is going to be so pretty and will delight you!

I need to catch up on housework and some laundry here but plan to cut the fabric so I can do one or two blocks a day until I have the remaining 16 blocks finished.

Hugs to all!
