The mailbox contained my brand new copy of Love of Quilting this morning. I love that magazine (and not just because I have family ties to it). In fact, it's the only quilt magazine to which I own a subscription.
I always look forward to the autumn issue. I know it's going to contain lots of Halloween fun. And I wasn't disappointed. This issues has not only several Halloween quilt projects but also a cute, easy-to-stitch banner.
But not all the projects in this months LOQ are seasonal. Just look at this beautiful basket quilt.
And this sweet little Paper Doll Nap Time quilt, which has matching pillow shams.
There's more, much more. Kits are available for the quilts, which is a valuable feature when you're looking for the same fabric that was used in the model quilts.
I grabbed a copy of the newest Where Women Create magazine a couple of days ago when I made a run to Hobby Lobby.
I love this magazine. I get lots of creative ideas from it on ways to organize and decorate my sewing room--most of which I never put into effect. But another reason I love the magazine is that it shows me that I'm not the only one who has too much junk.
This issue has a feature on Amy Butler's studio, a wonderfully colorful space, so neat and organized. There are also features on Jo Packham, Susan Tuttle, wonderful young quilter Camille Roskelley, and many more.
As for the Wags (doggies), what does Sophie do every time I start blogging? Pesters me to take her out, of course. So, gotta go. I'll show the some treasures I found on Hobby Lobby's sale shelves as well a couple of flea market finds tomorrow.

Oh! I was a B&N this morning and almost looked at Where Women Create and now I wish I had. Wish also that we had a Hobby Lobby as I miss that store!
How is your corner cupboard coming along?
Can't wait to see your other HL sale goodies!
Please hug the Wags for me!
Hugs!

Maybe because once upon a time, you helped start that magazine?
I had already planned to make Halloween bunting for my house and have had a stack of orange, purple, and black stacked up on my cutting table for a week. A little applique on some of them might add some extra punch.

OHHHH! You are now an enabler! I don't subscribe to any magazines 'cause they tend to stack up to quickly. I buy a few here and there when I see something interesting and the Halloween projects look too good to pass up. I may have to find a copy of that issue. Thanks for helping the economy by boosting my spending!

Hi Susan, thanks for your visit to the sweet deers and dears (my grands)Smile!
I want to do more quilting but sticking to it is so hard for me. I have fabric for three quilts and I need to get going on them. I do not have a craft room. sigh. I'm always having to set things up and some how it just doesn't happen. I have hope for me though. Your magazines sound great. I'm glad to know about them. We do not have a Holly Lobby where I live. A small town life is my life. I have to drive 60 plus mils to go to a shopping center of any size. I don't miss it so much.
Have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Jeanne

Oh I LOVE magazines and the stacks I have in my house bear witness to this. There are some great projects in LOQ magazine I need to try. I think a trip tomorrow to B&N should be on my agenda.
I'm enjoying all the antics of your furry companions - they are both adorable!

I haven't seen the Where Women Create magazine (I've seen books like that, but not the magazine). I'll have to look for it next time! Thanks for the info!

Tell us about your connection to Fons and Porter. I'd love to know! I will be sure to pick up that issue of the magazine--the basket quilt and the quilt on the cover look like just my thing. One other thing I like about the F&P is that they were the first to offer kits for all the quilts in the publication.
