Ghost in the Gallery

MonGhost

I know you've seen those photos that people take of ghostly images they've captured in their homes. Well here's mine. Do you see him? See his arms and his shoulders? And his little skinny head? And his big legs going down the stairs? Well of course it's a ghost. It's just as ghostly as those photos you see in The National Enquirer and on that tv show called "My Ghost Story."

I watched that very show one day last week when I wasn't feeling like rising from the couch. The particular episode featured three or four subjects who had experienced ghostly visitations, and each one had a photo showing his or her ghost. One was supposed to be a photo of an evil pig with horns and evil red eyes. I could only see a bunch of lines--no pig, no horns, no eyes, no red. Another was the reflection in a mirror of the face of a statue that had been stolen years before. Didn't see it. The other was supposed to be a human figure with no arms or legs. I saw a black blob.

I'm sure that if the producers of that show "My Ghost Story" happen upon this blog post, I'll get a call any day now to be featured on their show. I don't know exactly who my ghost is supposed to be. But there he is. I know it's not Vann. It doesn't look a thing like him. Below is another closer shot of my spook. I think you can see his legs better in this one. On the top stair there, see? One leg is bigger than the other--another sure sign it isn't Vann.

Spooks aside, today is Show Off Your Cottage Monday over at Cielo's beautiful House in the Roses. That's the reason I was taking photos when I caught my ghost in the act of descending my stairs. Below are a few more shots, sans ghost, that I took in and around my foyer and stairwell.

Your post today is fabulous. I love ever part of it. You sound like you are feeling pretty good (in spite of all the things going on in your life) and I sure hope so. Aren't dogs "the best" in so many ways. Take care. Mary

Well, at least it seems to be a friendly ghost. Anything being moved around your house? Maybe your dogs keep the menacing part of him at bay.

I love your old Singer. It looks just like the one I learned to sew on at my grandmas....and no, I don't have it sadly. Thanks for visiting today. Hope we can visit again soon!

"The Ghost in the Gallery?" Do you collect Dana Girls mysteries, too?

Oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh! Did you say Boo! to "him"?

Your many framed pictures are lovely and add so much to your stair hall!

I have my grandma's treadle Singer machine in its cabinet and I made my first garment on it when I was 11 years old. I was in a 4-H club in suburban Chicago, of all places, and I made a skirt.

Just last week friends gave us an old Singer treadle cabinet without the sewing machine and, after a polishing, it's now in AMIL's living room. It looks wonderful and she's so pleased with it!

Be good to you, dear heart!

Hugs to the three of you!

I think I saw your ghost at my house....same long skinny reflection. Is it possible he's going between Alabama and Texas??

Love your gallery - I wish I had stairs in my house to do something similar - but my absolute favorite is your assistant!

I never believed in ghosts until I lived in a haunted house in Cheyenne, WY. Your friend seems to be harmless. Just enjoying the view :)

I LIKE ghosts! They keep us company when we are lonely. And I like all the pretties along your stairwell walls. Trouble is, I'd be standing on each step forever admiring everything till you (or your ghost) would have to shove me down! LOL! As for Ms. Sophie & Skipper, they look as tho' they've been best friends forever! I'm so glad! LOVE YOU!

Your furry babies are so darling!

I think your goose gallery is so cute! I have a dog gallery in my foyer. I also like all the bird prints going up the stair wall - very pretty!

I don't believe in ghosts or evil spirits or whatever. However, it's strange that I don't like to purchase things that have belonged to people who have passed away. It seems like part of them is still there.

Love, love, love your pretty pink walls and your amazing decorating. Your house is very pretty!

I'm so jealous of all your wall space! My house could stand a few walls. The open concept is not all its cracked up to be.
