Happy Father's Day to my sweet husband (now in Heaven) and my dear FIL, Grover (in Camilla, I think). I love you both dearly and wish I could be with you this Father's Day. And also to my own daddy who passed away in 1977. Perhaps he and Vann are celebrating together today. I always did wish they could have met.
I was just remembering that this time last year, daughter Amy crept in from Portland and surprised Vann. Surprised isn't really a strong enough word. Actually she left him speechless for a few minutes. And our Vann was hardly ever speechless.
I know we're all remembering our PopPop with love today. I hope Amy, Phillip, Andy, and Cait, and all his family are comforted by memories of him, just as Sophie and I are.
NOTE: I am having computer issues. Working the clear things up today. But if I'm out of contact for a day or two, don't panic. I'll be back. Happy Father's Day to you and all your fathers and brothers and sons and husbands. I hope everyone is having a fine day.

Gosh you'd certainly know they were father and son. Like two peas in a pod. Hope you have a day of happy memories, Susan. Lol Helen

I agree with Helen! They are look-alikes for SURE! I am missing my play-dad (the one I 'adopted' as my dad, & who lovingly & generously put up with me for years - LOL!) SO much today. They are with us, tho', Susan! Always! I LOVE YOU!

Happy Father's Day to the beloved, wonderful fathers the world over and in the world beyond.
The photo of Vann and his father is priceless.
May today be full of happy memories for both of us, Susan. My father died in 1983.
Hugs to you and Sophie!

Two peas in a pod is right! They both look so happy. I am so blessed to still have my Daddy with me at 89 years young and I never let a day go by without thanking God for that privilege. My heart mourns with those who have lost their Fathers but rejoice in the fact that this is not all there is to life. There is another life to come and it will be eternal. How very sweet of God to think of that! Cherish your memories.

Thanks so much for sharing. I lost my father when I was 15 years old and I still miss him. I am now 60 years old and throughout life whenever I have a major decision to make I wonder what "Pop" would do.

I thought of you and your family yesterday. I try to keep Father's Day all about my husband and my son.
My father died 24 years ago, and I miss him so.

Wow...where does the time go. I remember this post when you went to visit! That means I have been following your life at least that long! My Dad is also gone (1996) and I'm hoping he is having a wonderful time on the 19th hole with his buddies.
