A Santa Request

Santa

I saw a beautiful Santa collage on Beverly's blog and fell in love with it. If you'll click on the link, you can see the collage for yourself. I asked Beverly if I could borrow her idea and make one of my own. Being the sweetie that she is, she told me it would be fine.

So I pulled out my Christmas card collection, gathered over many years and started sorting Santas. I have a lot, but I feel like I need more to complete my collage. So here's my request: If you have any old Santa cards (or new Santa cards) that you'd like to part with, I could use them. Any Santa card will do: new old, vintage, modern, whimsical, any Santa at all.

If you have a card or cards you could send me, please leave comment here with your e-mail address and I'll e-mail you my snail mail address. Thanks a bunch.

Alabama logo 1977 Florida-gators Sophie and I are waiting impatiently for 3:00 to come (50 more minutes). That's when the SEC championship game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Florida Gators begins. Both teams are undefeated. Both teams want to win badly. And Tim Tebow, Florida's QB, is without a doubt one of the best players to ever pass a pigskin.

But Sophie and I are betting the Crimson Tide Pachyderms will come through with a win--at least we hope so.

Do you like college football? If so, what team do you cheer for and why?

Years ago while at a NASCAR race in Daga Ricky Rudd drove the Tide car, after the race they were pulling the rolling tool box away, on the side was the word TIDE in big bold letters, sitting behind us we here...ROLL TIDE...only in Alabama would you hear that...and you'd have to be from the South to know what it means...
so for you and Sophie....Roll Tide...

I'm about to get my Christmas cards out and will see what I have that you might like.

Snow flurries here! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Meanwhile, ROll TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have the game on, of course!

Hugs!

Too cute, Susan. I am sure I have some Santa cards. They may not be old but I am sure I have some. I will begin looking for some in a few minutes.

I've been sewing most of the day but just came downstairs to watch the game with hubby. We're cheering for Florida...it sure should be an awesome game. Talked to the kids today and they woke up to snow on the yard in Birmingham...Hampton was so excited. Josh said it was melting fast so they had to hurry outside. Did you get snow?

It just so happens I have last year's stack of incoming Christmas cards. Nary a santa in the bunch. Hard to believe. Sorry.

Good thing you didn't get rid of all your paper craft supplies!

I'm going to email you some Santa jpegs you can print out if you need them for fillers. You could probably print them on some heavier paper like a card would be printed on.

I always keep last year's Christmas cards (for just one year), so I was able to go through the 2008 pack. Only one Santa but lots and lots of snowmen. Isn't that interesting? Glad to send you the one I have. Enjoy checking in with you every day; I feel like we're neighbors!!

Aha! You've motivated me to dig a little deeper in the office, and am mailing you a half a dozen Santas. Enjoy.

Arizona State University because it's my alma mater! They had a horrible season but, hopefully, they will be better next year.

Ohio State because my son-in-law's family is from Ohio and they are staunch Ohio fans. Ohio State and ASU never play each other during the regular season because they are in different conferences. Oh, and I love the way the OSU band does the famous script!

I don't know a thing about college football in the south/southeast but I'm sure the fans are full of pride when it comes to their teams.

We are huge UGA fans and since the Gators and Mr. Tebow frequently spank us, the family was pulling for Bama. I was secretly cheering for Tim Tebow---as a mother, I kept thinking "He's such a good boy, he should win" Oh well, I'm sure that he will do alright for himself!

What a fun idea! That is a great idea with any cards. Can't wait to see your finished project.

Catching up reading - I have a couple of cards I can send. I just don't know where my old ones are from last year or I'd go through them!

Hi Susan,

I just discovered your blog and thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the wonderful quilts, etc. Especially took note of many books I will be putting on my "to read" list.
I have some older xmas cards, I'll be happy to look through them and see if there are any Santas. Are older/sent cards okay?

all my best,
Kathy R
