My right hand and arm are much better today, but I can tell that there's still some inflammation or irritation or something there. So I think I'll leave off hand sewing, which means the bunny blocks, for another day.
But I might get on with constructing my snowball bias squares, since that's done on the machine. I think I can probably sew them with my brace on since it leaves my fingers free. I can type with it on, so I should be able to sew squares.
I did get some reading done yesterday. I finished two books and started another. The one I started is Stephen King's new novel, The Dome. I was hooked from the first page. So even though it's a big big book, something like 1,100 pages, it should be an easy read.
Andy brought me a book last night, Life Lessons by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross and David Kessler. This morning while I was drinking my coffee, I started it and I'm hooked on it too. So here I go, reading two books at once again.
Andy and Lori have been bringing me boxes so that I can start packing up some of Vann's things, to keep and to give away. So I might try to get at least one box packed today. Maybe it will be easier if I just do a little at a time.
I'm sneezing, my thoat is sore, and my eyes are swollen and watery this morning. I took a whatcha callit pill for allergy but it hasn't helped yet. If the sewing and/or packing doesn't go well, I might just lie back down and read Stephen King's book.
Here's something I've been forgetting for days and days and I want to post it. A good blogging friend and fellow quilter, Donna, honored Blackberry Creek with a Kreative Blogger Award.
Donna lost her sweet daughter Amber recently. I don't know what it's like to lose a child, but I know what an awful companion grief is. I know Donna would be cheered to have you stop by her blog for a visit. It's a wonderful blog, full of beautiful quilts, home decor, and stories of her family, including her dear Amber.

How wise of you to listen to your wrist and hand, put the splint on, and put the bunnies on hold. Let the healing begin, with books, tea, and sneezy meds to help you feel good again. If the splint doesn't help, your doctor may give you an Rx for an anti-inflammatory med.
Love your stack of squares for the Snowball quilt! Hope your hand and watery eyes will let you sew on that project for a while.
I applaud your decision to pack things a bit at a time. Haste leads to later regrets as is the case since AMIL's sisters went thru their mother's things in a day and without even letting AMIL know it was being done. They even donated things and threw things away before they told AMIL. Her feelings are still hurt about that a year later.
Hugs! Hope you feel better!

Hope your whatcha callit pill kicks in so you're well enough for Bible Study tomorrow night. I really missed not going last week but have been lax about my homework! Guess I know what I'll be reading today and tomorrow...and it won't be Stephen King! Tell Sophie and Earl Gray hello for me! Love you

I can relate - broke my right wrist Sunday a.m. & the entire sewing room is on hold - Christmas gifts 1/2 made...but we do what we can, right? For now I enjoy seeing what everyone else is doing...hope you can make some head way on those snowball blocks. Take good care of your arm!

I have greater sympathy for anyone with aches now since I broke my leg back in the summer. Hoping your hand is soon totally useful again. Wonderful quilt colors. I've only read one SK book which was not all ghosty and scary; maybe I'll give him a try again. Take care.

Bless you, bless you! I know how hard it is when the wrist and hand is acting up! I am familiar with Elizabeth Kubler Ross, she is a wonderful author and addresses subjects not attempted by others! When I was going to college nights in the '70's and read, Dying and Death by her. I am so glad I did because I never forgot her words and they have been so helpful in my husband's journey with cancer! Thanks for all the joy you give to others with your words and wonderful creations. Kerrie

Oh, I have wrist issues too, and the sewing and even reading (holding the book open) hurts it. Take care of that wrist. I"m trying to catch up on blogging as I have been busy writing...November can be the most hectic month for me.

I loved Life Lessons--a friend of mine, who lost two children to a very rare disease, called familial dysautonomia, recommended it to me. I hope you have a blessed and serene Thanksgiving. Ann
