Report From Magnolia Park

Working hard to finish up my blocks for the "Flutterbugs" (new name) quilt. Have six more blocks to make to have all 39 done. Might start on something else this afternoon if I'm not too tired when I finish the Flutterbugs.

Food here is awesome. Homestyle cooking with lots of carbs and calories. I'll have to go on a fast when I get home.

Retreat is over tomorrow afternoon. I've had a great time with my friends. Lots of laughter is good for the soul.

The beds are comfy, so I have slept well. The fibromyalgia is better than last week, but I have had to take frequent rest breaks to keep the back and legs going.

Back to the sewing machine. I'm taking pics to show when I get home. Bye.

How good to hear from you and applause for your diligence in working nearly to completion on your Flutterbugs (new name noted) blocks!

Have you ever read "Rx for Quilters" by Dr. Susan Mech? She's a quilter and had many things to say about how frequently you need to move around while sewing, the lighting you need (and need more of as your eyes age), table height, and a wealth of other information. I imagine that her tips would be appreciated by your fibro aches.

I'm so glad you and your friends have laughed so much. Laughter, friends, food, and fabrics. Nothing could be finer, not even Carolina in the morning!

Sophie will be so happy to see you! Hugs!

Ahhhh.....enjoying the theraputic benefits of quilting while surrounded by friends who love the same thing. It sounds heavenly. Going to a quilting retreat has been a dream of mine since I first read about them just after I started quilting (March 2008). I just know I will get there one day. I'm really happy to hear that the Fibro is cooperating with your retreat experience also. I can't wait to see pictures. Your in my thoughts and prayers as always.

Susan, I have a vision of you there amongst your friends enjoying the fellowship and mutual care.

This must be so good for your spirit.

It's WONDERFUL to hear from you! I was having serious S.W.S. (Susan Withdrawal Symptoms!) LOL! Sounds like FUN at the retreat! Hmmmmm ... wonder if they would have let me sneak in just to EAT and admire the quilts. Guess not, huh? Seriously, it's GOOD that you went and good that you are taking breaks to rest your body. LOVE YOU & look forward to photos!
