Dirty Dancing and Ghost are still two of my favorites. It is indeed a shame.

He was a beautiful man and will be greatly missed. Gone too soon.

I was so sad to hear the news. I've loved him since I was six years old and seen Dirty Dancing, he was my first crush.

Vann felt a special connection with Patrick since they were both battling pancreatic cancer. One thing Vann asked on the day before he died was, "Have you heard any news about my buddy Patrick?"

The strength of Vann and Patrick to face the battle and stay upbeat and productive has been an inspiration for me.

I think of them as honorable warriors in their fight.

When I heard the news this evening, I said to myself, "I hope Patrick will say Hello! to Vann for us"--two lovely men gone too soon.

Sending love,
Debra

I loved Patrick Swayze and was praying that he would live, but it wasn't to be. Was just thinking of the wonderful men we've lost from the entertainment field...Michael Landon, Robert Urich...men that were good husbands and fathers. Life is unkind, but I can only pray that they've all gone on to an painless, eternal life with God. Thanks for sharing and honoring Patrick with this wonderful tribute. Mary

Do you know Susan the day we found out about Greg's cancer was the same night they aired the interveiw with Patrick and Barbara Walters. I learnt more from that interveiw then I did from the doctors....

I have been reading your blog for some time now, but have never commented. I hadn't read since the end of last month. When I logged on today, I read your posts of these last few days. I am so sorry to hear about your husband, Vann. My prayers are with you and your family. Today is a sad day.

Norma

Another man that fought the good fight. He and your Vann must surely be visiting by now.

When I saw news of his death last evening I immediately thought of you. The husband of one of my dear friends in Switzerland also died of this cancer several years ago - it is such an aggressive disease, if only a cure could be found. All the best - hope you and your loved ones are starting to defeat that flu bug.

Gone, too soon for me, too. Sigh. It's good to know his buddy Vann was there to greet him - as the scene in Ghost depicts for the good folks departing this life.

Go in peace, Patrick, and thanks!
