My flu has morphed into a sinus and bronchial infection so now I'm taking Leviquin to get that under control.
I got a little bit of work done packing up the office today, but I still have lots to do. I ran out of steam after about an hour and had to give it up. Now I'm back in bed. Again.
The good news is that all the kids seem to be getting over whatever they had a lot easier than I am.
I wish they had a pill for impatience. I want to get up and get the office packed up, get some sewing done, honor some swap commitments, wrap and mail some packages, write thank you notes, make a dent in the laundry that has stacked up, go for walks with Sophie, maybe cook something special. I'm tired of being in bed. Being in bed just gives me more time to think of how much I miss Vann. And it gives me no fodder whatsoever for good blog posts.
But all that good advice from blogging buddies, friends, and family has not fallen on deaf ears (well, one deaf ear--the other one hears pretty good). I know that I have to be patient with my body for a while. I hear what you're saying. I know the last year has taken a toll on my health and stamina and that I have to give it time to rebuild reserves. I know all that. But that doesn't mean I have to like it.
Note: The photo of Vann above has nothing to do with this post, but it does fancy up the post a little, doesn't it? It was taken by a friend and colleague of Vann's, Karl W., in New Mexico, I believe, in the late 90s or 2000.

Oh, sending get well vibes and hugs! Hope your doctor is weighing in on the medicines you need since this is dragging on. If you haven't called the doctor, please do in case you need some mighty meds. or a chest x-ray. My mother had "walking pneumonia" following a cold/flu and her only symptoms were fatigue and coughing.
Love the picture of Vann in the great outdoors. I've always wanted a vest like that but have absolutely no reason for getting one. I think I'm drawn to all of those lovely pockets!
Drink orange juice, peruse back issues of decorating magazines or send a healthy person to the library for decorating books and you may get your pretty new office perfectly planned between naps and before your hair is washed!
Get Well hugs!

Great photo, Susan. Sorry to hear that you are still not feeling too strong, as you say it just needs patience, and that can be hard when you have things to do. I think its great that you even want to do things when you must be feeling sad.
Be patient! Those things will still be there to do when tou are up to doing them.

I hope you feel better really fast! I had a vicious bug of some sort or flu last week, down for four days. I just started feeling better and now having terrible allergies or a cold starting. Not fun when you want to sew and quilt!

I think it would be a surprise if you DIDN'T get sick now. Take it easy and rest because that is what you are supposed to be doing right now. Good thoughts and prayers are flying your way!

You were speaking of writing a book and I love the topic you chose. I would buy it in a heartbeat. I would love to read a book about Vann...maybe it's because I have a personal collection of Progressive Farmer magazines from the 40's (my Dad, who grew up on the plains of South Dakota, loved reading them with me when he would visit)...society could gently learn about remarkable men like Vann and maybe that would continue to inspire change. I'm enjoying the photos and the memories and the world could sure learn a lot from his life.
