Sunday Summary

Fried-okra Today before I went to the hospital, I cooked fried okra, field peas, corn on the cob and blueberry cobbler. I also did two loads of laundry. I only cooked all that stuff because friends had brought us the fresh veggies and I had bought the blueberries several days ago and didn't want them to go bad. Andy came and took over the laundry for me after we ate lunch.

Our friend, Joy, came by on her way to the airport. Joy lives in DC and was here visiting family here.

Then I went to the hospital to find Vann's room full of visitors, along with Phlllip and Amy. After everyone else left, Jed (my nephew) came in and hooked up a DVD player for Vann. He also brought some "guy movies." By that time, Vann was tired out, so we didn't watch a movie. Jed said he would come back tomorrow when Vann had time to rest up.

I thought that my cold or whatever was a lot better this morning. But this evening after everyone had left Vann's room and he had dozed off, I had a coughing fit. So I left to come home and take some cough medicine. It's better now. Guess I pushed a little too hard today.

Wonderful for Vann to have so many visitors and people who care for him
Hope your cold soon disappears and you are feeling better again.

I'm so glad Vann is doing so well.

That being said, I'm going to fuss a little! Here goes: If you don't take care of yourself...how are you going to take care of Vann? Try to get rid of that cold, it'll drag you down sooner than anything especially with the stress you've been under! Get some rest, eat well, get some more rest...everything else will take care of itself! (Glad you have family and friends to help!)

Hi Susan!

Good to hear yesterday was a good day for Vann! Hospital visitors are well-intentioned and most certainly welcome, but too often stay too long and it is exhausting for the person being visited. No one should be shy about asking folks to leave because it's nap time.

Nice that Vann will have the distraction of movies to watch. Hospitals are boring places to be stuck when you're feeling better.

Since Vann is eager to come home and says he'll be pushing for that, perhaps you should ask the nurses or doctor if you might need any type of medical assistant to help Vann at home if he's very weak? It would be good to know who to call if help becomes necessary.

Now missy, I'm with Debbie in reminding you to take good care of yourself. It wouldn't seem like going to the hospital to sit in a chair would be very tiring, but it is. Be good to you, rest, and eat some of that nourishing fresh food.

Hugs!

I will chime in here & echo the sentiments about taking care of yourself! You KNOW we all love you, and need you to be healthy! As for Vann, please, give him a special hug from me today. He has REALLY been in my thoughts for hours & I want to let him know that even from Texas, he is being hugged & loved & prayed for!

Bless your heart. A cold is bad enough to have when you are the only one sick, but I know it must be so difficult to be home sick with Vann in the hospital.
