Pride of Family

Below is an announcement I received this morning (sans the photo) about a poetry reading tomorrow, to be given by my big sister, Joanne. Isn't she beautiful? Both my sisters are award-winning poets. Not me; I'm more of the limerick sort, myself. My sister, Ramey, still makes fun of the poem I wrote when I was a teenager--something about cucumbers, if I recall. Anyway, if any of you are out this way tomorrow, drop in and listen to Joanne read.

Today is my grandson Jesse's 20th birthday. Happy Birthday, Jaybird, from me, Vann, and Sophie. Handsome lad, isn't he? If any of you out there have daughters of marriageable age, I'll make you a deal. Jesse's unemployed, likes to sleep late, likes to eat fast food, likes to play computer games, and loves to ride his buggy in the mud. But, hey! He's sooooo cute! Make me an offer.
Please don't take me seriously. I love this boy with all my heart--wouldn't take a gold monkey for him. (Well, maybe if it was solid gold, not gold plate.) Oh lookee here! I just got another poster in my e-mail box just now (this one, I can't get to show up here). Seems like both my sisters will be reading poetry next month. Ramey will be reading on Wednesday, April 15, at 11:00. at the same place. Whooo-ee! I sure am proud of my sisters! Y'all rock. (Here's a photo of my sister, Ramey, and her daughter India, also eligible as a matter of fact.)
