Pastels and Polka Dots

PPDs

Remember my grocery shopping story from the day before Snow Day? Well, the only decent grocery store we have in Leeds is actually Wal-Mart. (We do have another one, but it's really small and doesn't have most of what one needs.)

Anyway, not only did I need some grocery items, I also needed some muslin to make the siggy pieces for my siggy blocks. So I marched myself over to the fabric department in Wal-Mart, and what was the first thing I saw? These wonderful spring-colored polka dot fabrics, that's what. Could I leave them on the bolt and in the store? Of course not! So I bought a yard of each, in addition to a yard of muslin (for the siggy blocks), a new rotary cutter blade (gotta be sharp), a bottle of fray-check (don't need fraying), a spool of thread (I almost out of natural), and two spools of ribbon (it was on sale).

Oh, that's my favorite part of shopping at Walmart for groceries...the side trip to the fabric department. Love the polka dots! Hmmm, I wonder if I need some groceries. :-)

Love the cheerful polka dots and the springtime colors. How very wise of you to save gas by getting the fabric while you were there for groceries. Good planning!!

Love the polka dots too! I believe polka dots are making a fast return. I am seeing them all over blogland in quilts. Who can resist?

No one was hurt in the carport turn over. They are getting a new one tomorrow. I love the polka dots! I love material and book stores. I don't read much, just like the atmosphere in the store. I do however love to sew. I could get lost in a material store. My husband can not understand why I can spend 2 hours in Wal Mart. Browsing is the answer to that question. Just like Hobby Lobby. Letting the creative juices flow......LOL
Have a great day
Cindy

Our local Walmart removed all the fabric and the sewing section now has a few notions and things but nothing that has to be cut. I miss the old department. Love polka dots!

I am hanging my round head in absolute SHAME for having neglected your wonderful blog this long time! I PROMISE I've been reading it, but the days are NUTS here right now & the commenting has been delayed. I will say first that I NEEEEEEEED A Vann update! Have they allowed him to resume chemo yet? I'm sending prayers, good thoughts, & BIG HUGS! Sophie looks adorable in her snow-pose! I'm just in love with that darling doggy! And the Yellow House? I must have stared and sighed over that photo (with the snow) FOREVER! Beautiful! Love the 'polkydotties' - they look so cheerful, don't they? Your squares will ALWAYS be gorgeous because you do ONLY gorgeous work, Susan! LOVE YOU, and I'll try to be better about posting! Scout's honor! BAD, BAD KAI
