I had vowed to stay home and finish the laundry yesterday. But while the first load was agitating, I picked up my March newsletter from Heart to Heart Quilt Shop and was reminded that if I go in before the end of March (my b'day month), I get a 20% discount on everything I purchase. I mentioned this to Vann, and he said, "As soon as you get your shower, we'll go." That's all it took.
I forgot the piles of laundry in the bedroom floor, took a quick shower, and we departed for Trussville, the litte community just down the interstate from Leeds. Of course, since I was getting a 20% discount, I bought too much (but mostly books), in which I've found at least three quilt patterns that I just have to make with fabric I already have. I did buy a few fat quarters, but I believe there's a law against going into a quilt shop and not buying any fabric. Anyway, I wasn't taking any chances.
Met my friend Patsy and her husband Jackie there. I didn't even know she was a quilter. She said she took up the habit, er uh I mean hobby, about a year ago. Jack and Vann visited while Patsy and I spent money.
Here are some photos from Heart to Heart. If you're ever in the Birmingham area, I recommend a visit if you like quilt shops.

It's great to know that you are getting out and about with that wonderful man of yours! The shop looks so neat and cozy. I love the white quilt with the ribbons at the corners.

Can your husband talk to mine about how fun togetherness on the quilt shopping thing can be?

Hi Susan ~ I like Vann's "get up and hop in the car and go" mentality. :) Sounds like a very fun, fun shop! I was at the quilt shop here locally on Saturday, too. I had almost made a rule to not buy anything until everything I have is sewn and used up. I broke my rule..but it was for a good cause!

Oh, does that look like fun!! Maybe I'm lucky I don't live that close, I wouldn't be able to resist. Happy Birthday (whenever it was) and enjoy all your new stuff!

Thanks for sharing the pictures of the quilt shop - I sure enjoyed the visit. How nice that Van doesn't mind going to quilt shops with you. My husband will go, but usually sit in the car, but he is a sweetie, just takes a nap and tells me to take as long as I want. But then, I sit and sew while he checks our cemeteries - he is a genealogist, lol.
