I don't usually get too psyched with the Super Bowl thing. But last night was an exception. I watched the entire game and halftime, except for the times I was outside walking Sophie.
Andy and Steve came over and brought pizza and beer (and candy). We had a great time, and the game was a good 'un. Even though the Cardinals didn't win (and you just know we were pulling for the red birds, the cardinal being the totem at the Yellow House) they almost did.
We had our 3-D glasses to watch the much touted commercial, which turned out to be a big whoop to me. As I recall, the 3-D movies of my childhood were much effective (and scarier).
The best part of the whole game to me was Halftime. Bruce and E Street put on a fantastic show. The Boss was awesome, as always; it's amazing the things he can still do at 59. Patti was beautiful. Steve, Clarence, and the rest of the
band were tops. (I couldn't help seeing Silvio Dante every time I looked at Steve.)
Things are going to be pretty busy around here for the next couple of days. Vann has chemo today and tomorrow, and I have some other things I have to do; and Sophie has a full social schedule right now. So we won't be holding the drawing today. Maybe tomorrow, but I'm thinking no sooner than Wednesday. So I've decided to just leave the comments open until the drawing. It will be no later than Wednesday, I promise. And I'm working on the prize package. It's going to be fun, I think.
Look here what our sweet friend Velinda sent to us over the weekend. She and my daughter Andy went shopping at the new Bass Pro Shop, and when they saw this, they immediately thought of us. Isn't it pretty? I love the cherry blossoms in the background--and of course the pretty redbirds. Thanks, Velinda, you sweet thing.
Gotta go get busy with my busyness. Hope everyone has a great Ground Hog Day. He won't see his shadow here; it's rainy and cloudy.

Best wishes to Vann for effective chemo without side effect. Envision that medicine as the guys in the white hats going after the bad guys!
Love the mailbox!! What a wonderful and perfect gift addition for the yellow house.
Now as my grandma used to say, don't stay so busy that your soul cannot catch up with your body!

Make sure you two are resting up when you can, and taking care of each other.

I am glad you liked my novel, but I don't get the "unfortunately" at all, because many readers figure out the truth and the lies of the story in the first few pages. It's not a mystery! It's not a whodunit! Triangle isn't about the secret of the lie itself so much as it is about the effects on everyone in the story of a 90 year lie that is in plain sight all along. So the elements of confirmation in the ending really shouldn't be spoiled by your knowledge.
I write my novels and then they go out into the world and people I don't know read them, and of course, have their own responses. Certainly you are entitled to your own response, to be sure. But it puzzles me when a smart reader somehow feels disappointed because of an expectation that was brought to the reading. I can't control your expectations, but I can, ever so gently, challenge them.

I found you a new cardinal to add to your collection. =) I also added it on the prayer site, but I thought you might like access to a bigger version. This link should do.

I thought everyone in our living room wearing 3-D glasses was just as entertaining as the commercials. My mother would love your mailbox. It sounds as if you have quite a week - remember to take some time to relax and take care of yourself too.

I didn't watch the Superbowl. (Mike watched at a friend's house.) Shadow and I, however, did watch the "Puppy Bowl" on Animal Planet!

I am thrilled for your husband's progress with this challenge. You both are very brave and uplifting. I love your bird photos, I am a bird freak I guess. Also thank you for visiting my scrap quilts on my blog.
