I have loved Cicely Mary Barker's "Flower Fairies" since I discovered them a few years ago. And now they can be had in fabric.
When I pulled this Keepsake Quilting catalog out of my mailbox a little while ago, I almost leapt for joy. Then I remembered that any leaping I might do these days might lead to catastrophe, what with stiff joints, painful muscles, and a bad case of klutzitis. And my next thought, much to my distess, was that I'm not buying anymore fabric until I've cleared out some of what I have.
Oh shoot! No fair! Drat! Bummer! I guess I'd better start cutting and stitching so I can get rid of that room full of fabric before the Flower Fairies are no longer available. So 'scuse me. I'm going to the sewing room. Well, right after I take a shower and run my errands for the day--if I'm not too tired when I get back.
But before I go, let me show you this little Flower Fairy book I picked up at a yard sale some time ago.
These photos look fuzzy (out of focus) on my screen until I click and enlarge them. Then they're sharp. So if they're fuzzy for you, try enlarging.)

I am a new follower of your blog. I broke my kneecap a month ago and have been home from work. I have found a beautiful community of women through you and your blog. I keeps the loneliness at bay. I have been praying for Vann. Blessings of peace, health, and joy to you.

Those are so pretty! Hey, I love the new banner. How is that heart made? Is it fabric or is it crocheted?
The Lemon Chicken really is good. As for Raymond, I'm probably one of the few people who doesn't love him. Seriously, I can't stand that show, but I don't remember why!

Oh, they are beautiful. When I enlarged the pictures I could just see how sweet and innocent the faces are. I think you should go ahead and get some of the fabric!

Hi - I'm new, too, but wanted to encourage you to go ahead and get the Flower Fairies before they're gone or difficult to find!
In addition to the very large panels that Keepsake has, there are also panels with 12 fairy blocks (each picture is approx 6"x8") that come in periwinkle, pink, and "sunshine". Each panel has different fairies so if you get all 3 colorways, you have 36 fairies! Yes, I also was not going to buy fabric this year since I have an abundant stash, but these sweet fairies have always spoken to me, so I have all 3 panels of 12 fairies!! Delightful!
I've been visiting here for several months and have Vann and you who love him in my prayers, too.

Just last Friday on my trip to the quilt shop I saw those fairies and I bought a panel of the 12 fairies. I just couldn't resist. I think it was the Sunshine fairies.
I am thinking of you and Vann often and you both in my prayers. God Bless -Pam

I have seen those fairies yesterday when I was placing an order at Keepsake, they are beautiful! I don't receive the catalog, I don't know why because I everything I buy goes to a private courier in New York that ships to Middle East.So I should get the catalog like any other, no? Well, I don't know, I sent a couple of mails but never got an answer. On the other hand the orders arrive perfect. ;-) I haven't seen those before on fabric, they should be on the part of the catalog that says " Must have"....
You know I paint on porcelain. Well, my teacher used to paint those fairies. They were awsome because those faces are so sweet. Hope you make a lovely project with that fabric. Oh, I wrote a lot today, haha.

When you get ready to make your fairy quilt, let me know and I'll embroider some fairy blocks for you. I have some very pretty designs since my soon to be daughter-in-law likes fairies too.

Oh my goodness!!! I have blogged about her books before too, Thing 2 is OBSESSED with her books. As you know I have recently gotten rid of more than half my supplies, but no doubt I will be ordering from them. The Apple Blossam Fairy even looks like her holding her little cousin! You should order too, we could work on them together. This seriously the push I need, I love the kit but the fabric is stellar too. Any suggestions on a good pattern for a person who has no attention span?
How are you and Vann doing? I have been thinking of you both.

That is THE absolute most BEAUTIFUL fabric!!!! Buy it. Or tell me where to get it and I'll get it for you! You know, if you were wanting to hold off on getting it because you didn't know what to do with it....you could always make me a quilt with the fairy fabric =) Just sayin'...

I love the fairies and I would love to see are large version of them in a quilt. Im a huge Brian fraud fan. While I was in rehab for being addicted to elicit substances at Narconon VistaBay I spent a lot of time illustrating similar fairies and I would love to see them translated.
