Phillip and Amy returned safely from south Georgia. Carrie brought Simon (her parents' doggie pictured at left) to see us. Vann and I went to church on Sunday morning. And on Sunday afternoon, we had a gazzillion visitors.
Simon is a 13-week-old Labradoodle. Sophie loves him, as do we all. Since he lives just down the road from us, we hope to see this fellow often.
Vann got lots of love, prayers, support, and hugs at church. Several of his guy friends came by our pew to give Vann a hug and to say, "I love you, man, and I'm praying for you every day." And, naturally, all the ladies gave him hugs too. He got several "thumbs up" gestures from across the isle from folks who weren't close enough to hug him.
When we got home, Horace and Marcie (friends from north Georgia) were waiting for us, as were Phillip, Amy, and Carrie. Horace and Marcie had stopped by on their way to their cabin in Wyoming where they plan to spend Christmas in the snow. We had ham croissants and potato salad for lunch, with a dessert of pecan tarts.
Before Horace and Marcie left, Bob and Mary Beth (neighbors) dropped in for a while. They were both sporting new motorocycle boots. Minutes after Bob and Mary Beth left, Gene and Maria (more neighbors) came by. We spent a long time visiting with them. And as soon as they left, Carrie's brother John came in. Finally at about 8:00, we ran everyone off so Vann could get some rest. He feels great this morning--better than he has felt in a while. So I guess good company is good for him.
This is a chemo day. We're scheduled to be at the doctor's office at 1:00. Vann is dreading it, but I know he'll do fine. Phillip is going with us.
I hope everyone in Blogland had as good a weekend as we had. Here are a couple of pictures of Simon with Carrie and Phillip.

It sounds like you are showered with blessings. I'm so glad that you have so much love and support from your family and friends.
I know how difficult it is to sit in that treatment room. My prayers are constant.

Such support shows how much you both are cherished by family, neighbours and friends. Be thinking of Vann today as he undergoes his treatment.
Love the doggie photo

Susan, Simon is adorable. I haven't seen this breed before. Of course we love poodles and Simon is part poodle.
It is wonderful to have the love an support of family and friends. I hope and pray the treatments go well.
Thank you for you kind comment about Babette. This was such a sad loss for us. She did live a very long time and she was a happy girl. We need to say goodbye and be happy with our memories. It is really hard to let go.
Christmas blessing to yo all...Love Jeanne.
