Aren't these two cute? (Click on photos to enlarge.) Our sweet friend Ashleigh, who lives next door, is knitting Vann a soft and warm toboggan, in case he should lose his hair during chemo. Or not; Everybody needs a warm hat during the wintertime.
She brought her work over last night for a fitting, and I took pictures. I don't know who Vann was talking to on the phone, but Ashleigh was giggling her head off because Vann looked funny with knitting needles sticking out of his head. Andy also came over and cleaned up the kitchen for me, for which I was extra grateful.
Phillip and Carrie arrived in the late afternoon. And Jesse and I visited the new Bass Pro Shop to get Jesse some new boots; but they were out of the style he wants, so we're waiting for a new shipment. Phew! It was a busy evening!
Vann had his port-a-cath surgery this morning. All went well and we're home now. We were only at the hospital from 6:30 a.m. till about 10:00.
Now I think I'll go and chill out in my big chair with a book for a while this afternoon. Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday.

Hey I put and non-Vann pick of the hat on my blog :) http://wickedgoodknitsandtreats.blogspot.com/
It's not as good and the ones you took but I'm quite proud to be making it for him. :)

I haven't been keeping up with my blog buddies lately due to my own health challenges, so I was surprised to find out what is going on with you and Vann. Big hugs to both of you and you have my prayers, also. I know what your friend meant about really learning what it means to rely (rest) in the Lord. The blessings and grace that come to us in our weakness and neediness offset the discomfort to a large extent. I'm so happy that we don't have to go through these times alone. Your quilting friends are a beautiful bunch.

Oh I lost power on the day of Vann's first treatment. I'm glad it went well and am happy to read the port is in. The hat is fabulous!!! If there is anything the two of you need/want during this time let me know, please. I hope you are BOTH taking great care of yourselves and enjoying the season.

When my dad was having chemo, he lost some hair--the funny thing was, he only lost his black hair and kept all the gray ones! After the chemo his black hair came back and he returned to his salt and pepper look.
What a sweetie of a neighbor you have!
Absolutely, do not forget to take care of yourself Susan.
