So I didn't get a photo of Vann this time, but trust me--he was very cute lying back in a big pink leather recliner, eating peanut butter crackers and drinking a Sprite. Then I had to leave and go to the waiting room and tend to my knitting.
Dr. L. is sending us back to the surgeon, Dr. W., to have a port inserted so that they won't have to put a needle in Vann's vein for each treatment. His next chemo is scheduled for Dec. 22 and 23, after he gets the port.
Meanwhile the cards, letters, prayers, gifts, phone calls, additions to the Prayer Quilt, and notes slipped under the doormat keep pouring in.

I love you, too! And Vann is going to do SO GREAT! I FEEL it, Susan! How can such a sweetie-pie as he is (and I know you ARE a sweetheart, Vann Cleveland!) NOT do great? Glad they are putting in a port. Much less taxing on the body! Your knitted piece is looking beautiful! What yarn is that? I'm assuming the colors are already worked into the skein, right? It's so PRETTY! I was hoping the butterfly would give you a lil' boost. The minute I saw it, I had to get it for you! It's not 'fine jewelry' but if love were gems, that small thing would be worth a lot! HUGS TO YOU & VANN today!

I'm so proud of both of you. I know this isn't easy, but you are a perfect team. My prayers are going strong.

I wish Vann nothing but the best Susan. and the smae for you. That necklace from your friends is so pretty. And look at all the love you've received in your mailbox. Friends are the best aren't they? And DO bring that camera. We wanna see him in that pink chair.

When my father was undergoing chemo my sister Nicki and I would bring in a picnic lunch and keep him company. It was an all day affair so we would drop him off in the morning and then on our lunch break would meet up with him (well, it's not like he was going anywhere!) and visit for an hour or so.
The chemo nurses were always so nice and accomodating. I'm sure if we wanted to commence with square dancing they would have cheerfully allowed it.
My very best to Vann and you hang in there too.
