So Much to Show; So Much to Tell

Swap Banner 2
Once you get behind blogging, there's no catching up. I have photos and stories from retreat; I have swap photos to show; I have new photos of Sophie; and I just general have a lot of gabbing to do. I won't get it all done today, but I'm going to take a stab at it.

Above is the banner I made and sent to my Trick or Treat Swap partner Sandy. Below is a pic of the rest of the stuff I sent.
Swap Goodies I have all of the photos that you've sent me. If I haven't posted yours yet, please be patient with me. I'll get to them all before Halloween.

Next is a photo of an ATC I made for Patti's Halloween ATC swap.

Patti_ATCAnd finally, here are some photos I took at the Piecemaker's/Patchwork Pals (PPP) Annual Quilting Retreat.

Retreat Cyndi
The first photo is Cyndi modeling a sweet apron made by Mary S. The next seven (7) photos are: Gerry's (she's behind the quilt) quilt top made from blocks she won in the guild block-of-the-month drawing, Pat L.'s (left) quilt top (Jane is helping her show it), another quilt top by Pat L., Cyndi's Stack and Whack blocks, two examples of the Easy Striped Table Runner that many of the ladies were making, and Rita's grandbaby quilt. (Scroll down for explanation of last photo.)

Retreat Rita Retreat Myrna Bag

Now whoever is the first to guess what the last photo is gets a prize. No kidding, if you tell me what this is, I'll send you a prize (don't know what yet, but it'll be good.) Myrna made it and, bless her heart, she took a lot of ribbing about it during retreat. (Myrna, you can't guess, and neither can any of the people who were at retreat.) Good luck everyone. Hi Susan,
well I will be your first guesser- I get to lead everyone down the garden trail in the wrong direction. At first I thought it was a bag for potatoes but I looked a little closer and didn't see any draw string. Now I am thinking that it is a Hot pad named "Hot Rocks". That's my guess and I will look forward to finding out how far I led others astray:D)

You had some lovely quilts to show from the retreat. I hope that you had lots of fun and came back rejuvenated and inspired.

I am about to begin a book you recommended a while back - The story of Edgar Sawtelle. I am looking forward to reading it.
Have a nice Sunday...
Anna

He he, it is a microwavable bag to bake potatoes or other fresh veggies in. I was given a pattern to make them this summer at farmer's market by a customer. They work really well and are machine washable too.

I love those striped table runners!! So cute. My guess is that it's a baked potato bag for cooking baked potatos in the microwave.

I thought potatoes, too, and someone posted about the microwavable bag for potatoes which makes sense to me!

The lovely pictures of the quilts and their artistes really tugged at my heart. How special and wonderful these ladies are, and how fortunate their families. I hope I can build a shining community like this some day.

Susan, I love all of your Halloween swap goodies. It has been so fun seeing all of the pictures.

I'm guessing those are baked potatoes, but I don't know the use.

Uhhhh ... my guess is Plymouth Rock! Okay, okay - so I'm already in the Thanksgiving zone. But I'm being serious. Boy, those are some BEAUTIFUL pieces of quilt art! And ALL the Halloween things are wonderful! Doggone it, Susan! Thanks to YOUR banners being so nice, I'm going to HAVE to try one. You DOOOOO realize I sew by hand? LOL! Finally, tell your friend Cindy she is an absolutely darling model and her apron is terrific! Generally, aprons are designed either strictly for service or strictly for pretty. (Think 'French maid.') This one is quite perfect for service AND a very flattering style for any shape or size - even ROUND LIKE ME! Love it!

Wow, lots of goodies in this post. I love all the Halloween swap goodies & your retreat pics. I'm not real sure but I'd guess (like some others before me) that those are supposed to be potatoes??

Hey, Love your site, quilts and books. I'm thinking that the bag is a trick or treat bag with a tomb and tombstone on it. Have a great Halloween. Trish
