Quilters Incognito

Bee 3 Yesterday, members of the Piecemakers Quilting Bee met at The Yellow House. Each member hosts the bee meeting once every year, and October (my favorite month) is usually my month to host.

We had a great time. I served a brunch of Blueberry Oven French Toast with Blueberry Sauce, Breakfast Casserole, Hawaiian Banana Bread, Fruit, Apple Cider, and Coffee. Vann joined us for brunch, and Sophie joined us for the whole meeting, lying on the sofa behind Barbara and commenting occasionally with a low-level growl.

There was lots of show-and-tell, but going through my photos this morning, I noticed that most everybody was trying to keep her face covered (or at least partially so) during the picture taking. Sally showed us two of her gorgeous leaf art quilts, but only half of her face. Sally even held up two of Doris's adorable snowmen quiltlets, managing to hide even more of her face. Martha modeled her wonderful Halloween quilt top, hiding herself completely behind it. Only Doris, displaying a quilt aptly titled "Joy" showed her face and her great big smile--but even then, I managed to cut the top of her head off.

How funny. I wonder if they did that on purpose. Sophie sounds like a quilter in the making!
