Look what Gertie and I made for tomorrow's bake sale: a chocolate cherry bundt cake. We also made a pot of soup and a pan or cornbread. We're tired now, so I'm going to lie on the couch and watch something mindless on tv while Gert takes a long nap.
But first I have to brag on Gertrude. She's a great little girl, she is. I set her oven for the temperature and time stated in the recipe, and she bakes a perfect dish. That might not sound so amazing to you. But I'm used to baking in an oven whose temperature setting bears no relation to the actual oven temperature one gets. I love you, Gert.
