I've been feeling punier and punier every day this week--then yesterday the fibromyalgia went into full flare. Remembering what I discussed last month regarding fibro and the moon, I hobbled to the calendar to check what phase the June Moon was in. Guess what? Tonight is full moon.
So that pretty much settles that question. The fibromonster is actually a werewolf who does his nastiest work during the full moon and the days preceding and following it.
This is a most unfortunate development. Tomorrow morning at 7:30 I'm supposed to leave with my Women of Worship (WOW!) group for Orange Beach for our annual beach retreat. The prospect of packing a suitcase sends me into waves of anxiety. My brain won't even let me think about the four-hour ride.
My brain also can't think of anything else to write, so I'm going now to start getting ready to ride to the beach with 11 other women in a van. I know that sounds like a fun thing, and normally it would be. But during really bad flares, I crave a soft, quiet, stationary place until the wolf goes back behind that tree.

Susan, I pray that the werewolf leaves you alone. I hope you find comfort so you can enjoy your trip.
I'll be thinking about you.

Would it be so bad to just do what you feel like doing - for yourself!! I mean just say no to the trip and relax? Or would you feel as if you would be letting the other ladeis down? Just wonderin'.

I was thinking of you just last night as I looked up at the moon. It makes perfect sense to me, the longing that you have for quiet and peace...the nerve endings are literally standing on edge during this time of flare up. I hope you feel better soon.

It's ok to say, "No, Thank You," to this one. I always remind myself that I am honoring God when I quietly take the time to give thanks and take care of myself when I am in a flare.
Take Care~ Gayle
