I don't know who enjoyed last night's "Elvis" performance at the local Relay for Life event more, the middle aged women or the kids.
I know I enjoyed it. I rocked, I rolled, I shook my booty. It was as much fun as I've had in a long time. Our Elvis impersonator, who is a member of he choir at Cedar Grove Baptist, sounded just like the King himself. He had the moves too.
But today, I pay. I'm not sure if it was the booty shaking or the rearranging of furniture in the sewing room yesterday, but something has definitely caused a hitch in my getalong.
It really was a fun night. In addition to Elvis, we enjoyed performances from other local talent, including our neighborhood's own Bunco Babes.
Paulie, with help from Vann and Sophie, had cooked up huge pots of both red chili and white chili. I didn't try the red, but the white was out of this world good. There were other goodies, but I stuck with the white chili.
There were other contests, including a root beer chug-a-lug, which looked painful. We saw Sophie's Dr. Rachel and her friend Officer Jim. You can see from Dr. Rachel's hectic complexion that she had been working in the sun most of the day. A lot of people did a lot of work to make our Relay for Life (cancer fund) a success. I don't know how much money was made. But I bet it was a bunch.

To this day, my mother still loves Elvis. I always laugh when I remember the phrase Elvis the Pelvis. He could really shake it, couldn't he? Hope your shaker is feeling more fit soon.

Funny! And a good looking King as well. Hey, try Aleve. I have been taking up to three at a time for my lower back--who knows what I did? It wasn't shaking my groove thang which is in bad need of shaking and slimming. But it's the only thing that has helped. Plus the Ben Gay heat pads--wondrous relief. Come over and see me.

Oh, shoot...a few aches and pains are NOTHING when you had THIS much fun.
I saw Elvis in person once and then I saw an impersonator in Vegas...I loved both but the FAUX one was actually BETTER than Mr. Presley ! :o)shhhhh....you didn't hear me say that!
So glad you had such a great time!
