Yesterday was such a busy day. Haircut and color, pedicure, prom chores with Jesse, cooking, laundry. But even before all that, I made a thrift store run, ostensibly to deliver several boxes and bags of donations from my office/art room. But I had a few minutes, so I did a quick run through to make sure I wasn't missing any treasures. And, sure enough, I would have missed several had I not run the isles.
Just look at this wonderful cross-stitched rabbit pillow. Now you k
now how I love rabbits. With eyelet lace ruffle, no less.
And what about the rose and ticking pillow shams or pillow cases? I'm not sure which it's supposed to be, could be either. They fit king-size pillows. But have you ever seen pillow shams or pillow cases that were open at both ends? I haven't, but these are. I think I'll stitch up one end like a normal pillow case.
Finally, I found this oil painting. Not sure yet where it will hang.
I can't remember exactly what I spent, but it was under $20 for everything.
The girls who clean my house every two weeks just finished up. Now for the first time in many months, my whole house is clean and neat--well, everything except for the sewing room, that is. And with the door closed, one doesn't notice that room. The great sewing room reorganization is going to have to wait until we return from our beach trip. We're leaving Friday, and I have lots to do before I can leave. But like Mama used to say about dirty dishes, it'll be there when I get back. (Or was that me who said that? I think Mama said, "Suzie, do the dishes.")
Hope everyone is having a good week. The weather here is near perfect, dry and cool and sunny, and very, very green.

That painting is wonderful. I have two bags of donations in the back of my car...a thrift store visit sounds like fun today!

Iwish I was more dedicated about going to thrift shops and looking for treasures. Other people always find the best stuff.

Great finds!! I don't do a lot of shopping in thrift stores but it seems there are some wonderful things to be found in them. I must give it a go one day. I can't imagine someone would go to all that work to make such a pretty little bunny pillow and then put it in a thrift store. Good to see that it now has a loving home :)))
