This is the neatest these bookshelves have been in a couple of years. They're organized and dusted, and all the clutter that previously filled them has been put in the trash can where it belongs. Although they're of little use now, I don't have the heart to get rid of the set of World Book Encyclopedia on the bottom shelf, circa about 1972 BC (before computers). I asked Caitlin did she want them, and she said she did--wants them to stay here, I think is what she meant.
Vann built the bookcases for me many years ago, before we were married. He does beautiful woodwork.
My desk is straightened up too, again for the first time in a while. It's a pleasure to work in a space that isn't full of garbage and clutter. I just hope I can keep it this way.
We went to church this morning, then to lunch at El Cazador with Lori. The weather has turned chilly again. The weather people are even talking about snow flurried tonight or tomorrow, but I don't much believe that. It isn't that cold--at least not yet.
Paulie (across the street) is worried about his newly planted tomato plants. I say anybody who plants tomatoes in north Alabama in April shouldn't be surprised if they get nipped in the bud by a spring freeze. That's not to say I'll be happy about it. Paul supplied us with lots of delicious tomatoes last summer. I'd like a repeat this year, so I'm hoping for no bud nipping tonight.
Since this room is neatened up and dusted, it's time to start on the sewing room. But I'm going to take this afternoon as a day of rest and start tomorrow. I think the cleaning and organizing will go faster in that room, because it isn't such a mess to start with--or at least it wasn't until I started moving things all around to make room for Jesse to move the old chest out. Now this is what it looks like.

You have been busy with the Spring Cleaning.
Feels good once you have done it but then it doesn't take long for it to look the same old mess again - well for me anyway.

Susan, you've done a wonderful job of organizing. I love your bookshelves. I know what you mean about your desk. I constantly struggle to keep my desktop clean, and I feel so good when it is.
I ended up giving our encyclopedias to a friend many years ago. I wonder what she did with them when her son was grown.

The shelves look excellent! For me, there is nothing like having company to shame me into cleaning the house. I have my work cut out for me this week!
